Canadian Ambassador for Sully's Bar
So the actual trip is October 10th and I will get Sonya to move it over when that time comes. A week seems a bit late considering the normal BeeeJay and crew trip reports we're part of usually start with a month of trash talk before, that being said BeeeJay won't be in Vegas until our mid November debacle.
So a little background on this trip...Gaggles got an offer from Caesars for a chartered flight for 2 and room to Laughlin comped. He was nice enough to invite me and seeing has how it was free who was I to say no. I booked my own room at Harrahs Laughlin comped. Now before I continue I must add that this is not mine or Gaggles first trip to Laughlin. We both had the same 2 people comped offer for December 2011 and took my Dad and a friend. Now after that trip I must admit I am not the greatest fan of Laughlin and I will explain. Firstly at Harrahs the video poker at the bar is 10 credit with brutal odds and the the drink service on the floor was nearly non existent, so we ended up heading to Riverside, which was a blast. From there we went to Aquarius where combined we won $6000 (Gaggles $1k, Dad $500, Macker $500, friend $4K). It was 2AM and you could have shot a cannon off in this place, yet the bartender continually told us to be quiet or we risked being asked to leave when we were cheering after wins. I inquired as to where this direction was coming from and he said the pit boss. After like 5 warnings we had enough and went to the pit to grab our friend who was up $4000. We told him we were leaving due to the pit boss calling the bar to tell us to be quiet, the pit boss assured us it wasn't him but our taste for this place had already been soured. At the cage the security supervisor let us know that it wasn't his team either and we could return to the bar with no future problems. Funny...It was at this time our big winner friend said fuck that we're leaving.
Our next stop was some place for one drink I think, then onward to Colorado Belle, where Gaggles was swearing at his machine, with my Dad throwing out C words (proud moment there) and security was telling me to keep them under control. Once again you could have shot a cannon off in this place without hitting a soul. So avoiding the inevitable I just got everyone in the cab and we went back to Harrahs. It was like 4AM, the old guys went to bed while Gaggles and I continued to gamble. Gaggles and I were still winning and yelling around the corner to each other. Security comes to me and tells us if we're not quiet we're outta here. I said to him are you really going to kick out a diamond and a platinum player? He looked at my card, then went around the corner where I hear an audible HEY! because he took Gaggles card out of the machine to check it. He then came back and said we could do what we wanted, just no swearing.
The next day we woke up hating Laughlin so we did the most logical thing. We rented a car, got a few rooms at bills for $40/night and went to Vegas. Now let me say that Vegas is my favorite place in the world, but I hold a special memory for this night in Vegas. We found the legendary Lions Share machine in MGM GRAND and it was empty! This is where the buffoonery began! We all threw in $20 thinking it would last 15 minutes...While it lasted 3 hours and a waitress was bringing us 2 drinks at a time every 15 minutes ($10-$20 a round helps that lol). The highest we had it up to was $380 but eventually lost it all. Gaggles at one point was up on the side of the machine, dry humping it, with a security guard laughing and giving him a thumbs up. Later that night my Dad was puking in the Ballys bathroom. There was enough swearing that night to make a sailor blush and no one even blinked an eye...God I love Vegas!!!
OK, so now that you have an abbreviated trip report from my last Laughlin trip where was I? Oh yeah! So we arrive in Laughlin October 10 at 8:40 PM. I think my plan is a couple quick drinks at Harrahs, then over to either Riverside or maybe even Aquarius (I know! but it's tough to turn down 10/6 DDB). After the first night could be some pool time or maybe even a jet ski on the river, but then the real trip begins. We are renting a car and heading to Vegas. What makes this trip even more unique is in 30+ trips for me and 100+ trips for Gaggles, we're finally staying downtown. You see we met a host through BeeeJay at the Golden Gate a couple years ago. To date he has always sent a limo to the strip to pick us up for a night of gambling there. Well we finally decided to try out a couple nights there. I don't think we will be disappointed as we both love the GG and the D. I'm sure there will be a trip to the strip as well one night. So after a couple of wild nights on Fremont it will be a somber drive back to Laughlin with a quick night there before a flight back to chilly Canada in the AM.
I will be posting live updates from my phone as I have a data plan. Gaggles I'm sure will post some as well, but you may have to wait for his return to get the full story. So I hope you all enjoy what I hope will be a fun and profitable journey.
