Anyone out there ever get comps when they were not even looking for them? I e-mailed the VP of Slot and Table Marketing at the hotel I stayed at last time from the website. I'm planning a trip back to Vegas this year with some friends and was interested in seeing if any of us qualified to get the Casino Rate based on last years play. Anyway, like about 20 minutes later, I get a message on my cell phone AND an e-mail telling me that they looked up my card number and based on my play they could offer me full RFB on my next stay. Which kinda shcoked me seeing as how for the most part I was only a red chip bettor. I was playing anywhere from $2 to 2 hands of $15-$20 at blackjack. Now I know I played alot over 5 days, but I don't even thikn they rated me for some of the play. They only had me down for $15 a hand for 21 hours. Would $15 a hand for an average of a little over 4 hours a day rate this? Then to top it off, I'm leaving on Thursday for Vegas with my girlfriend, and last night I get a call from the Casino Host. I was like, ok, the ruse is up. They figure out that they made a huge mistake LOL. The host was offering me 2 floor seats to the Paul McCartney Concert at the MGM. I'm not a big Beetles fan, always prefered the Stones and the Who, but I'll take it.
Anyone else ever get something like this? I keep waiting for a catch. I only dropped $300 of my own money last time I was there. I had some pretty good luck on some of the early days of the trip, so maybe they are counting the $500 I was up too, for a total loss of $800. Even so though, I'm still suprised by this treatment for that little a loss.
