The IP casino was utterly useless once Caesars
took over, and I expect nothing different with the name change. Okay, the IP sports book remained somewhat entertaining for awhile, and they continued having a good futures line for a long time, if that's your thing. But when I was in the sports book a year ago it was clearly time for last rites, and now it's apparently going RIP.
The goal of the Quad is clear: aim low. The IP was already the go-to Strip joint for low-brow cheapos. I am not criticizing, as I was more than willing to stay there for the outstanding location and the bottom basement price. Mostly, however, this clientele is not looking for a gambler's casino. I stayed there but didn't spend anything in the casino, except for the odd bet in the sports book. I don't know what your average IP/Quad guest is looking for in a casino, but I'm guessing it's not what I want. So Caesars
is just going to spruce it up to the bare minimum, knowing their clientele, and leave it at that. That means the casino will continue to suck.
Once the dust settles on the Linq project I will likely stay at IP again, I mean the Quad, if the price continues to be right. The location is just too good and I really don't need much beyond a functional hotel room. But I am sure I will not be spending any time there except in my room drinking my own beer with my friends and sleeping.
