I got this from my nephew, so I can't vouch for accuracy, but he's a pretty sharp lawyer and hasn't steered me wrong yet. Not sure where he got the info.

So you want to check out The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, but you don't want to start from scratch as a brand new player?

If you're a member of another Las Vegas casino slot club in good standing, you can advance to the head of the class, as Cosmo will match.

Cosmo has three tiers: Silver (which everyone gets for signing up), Gold, and Platinum.

If you show your Total Rewards (Caesars) Platinum or Diamond card, you'll get Gold. Show your Seven Stars and you'll get Platinum.

If you show your B Connected (Boyd Gaming) Sapphire card, you'll get Gold. Show your Emerald and you'll get Platinum.

If you show your M Life (MGM Resorts) Pearl or Gold cards, you'll get Gold. Show your Platinum and you'll get Platinum.

Those are the only ones we know; if you're a high member at another casino, visit the Cosmo player's club (called Identity) to check. They have a list of tier statuses at all the major Las Vegas casinos.

What will that get you at Cosmo?

At Gold (normally 20,000 points, or $30k coin-in in 12 months), you can get an upgrade to a terraced suite, 24-hour advance ticket sales, free fitness center, arrival amenity (we checked and it's chocolate), upgraded turndown service, one in-room movie per visit, birthday champagne toast, invitations to special tournaments, early check-in/late check-out, priority access to Wicked Spoon, access to Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub.

At Platinum (normally 80,000 points, or $120k coin-in in 12 months), you get all of Gold plus personal host service, pool host service, insider tours of restaurants, preferred seating at restaurants, free spa access, access to member lounge, access to chauffered limo, VIP check-in, priority valet, guaranteed room/suite availability, free transportation to/from the airport, and more.

Note that this will just upgrade you; your offers will still be dependent on your play.

This is a no-cost to them marketing scheme and doesn't seem to offer many benefits.

What does a Gold member get over a Silver member at Cosmo?

Also, since Cosmo has a reputation for being very stingy with comps it doesn't sound like you get much at all.

Sadly, none of this really means a lot. I know because just yesterday I contacted a host to see what they could do as I am a MLife platinum member who gets 3/4 nights in Aria SkySuites, $150-200 in free play and limo to/from airport each visit (usually 2/3 visits per year) and the best they could offer me was 1 comp night. Nothing else. Just not enough up front to pull the trigger on a new resort IMO. And we already had the matching Platinum Identity Club at Cosmo. And he was able to verify my MLife play as well. 1 Comp night, get the f** out of here Cosmo.

Everyone seems to get nothing from the Cosmo...except my buddy. We played $25 a hand blackjack for a half hour tops there one trip. He dropped $300. He consistently gets 2 free night offers all the times. Guys like you get one night, the low roller gets 2.

COSMO has been offering this match since they opened. So, yes it is true. (I am not a lawyer, but do consider myself a sharp buguy - LOL)

As to getting free rooms, etc - that is based on your play at Cosmo. So do not expect any offers until you actually play.

I also got upgraded based on my play at Caesars. I called a host to see if they had anything to offer. Long story short, they didn't even have my upgraded status in their system. They just printed me out a Gold card and kept my status at Silver. I think she realized her mistake in telling me this because she instantly tried to backtrack. No offers, but a nice casino rate of $659 a night for June 1st and 2nd:nono:

She said that they want at least $150-$200 of play for 4 hours a day before they will consider doing anything for you.

I think Cosmo’s offers have been quite competitive. Sure, my early offers were weak, but so was the action I gave them. The past few times I’ve stopped in, I’ve played for a good hour or two at decent levels, and my offers from Cosmo are now on par with what I get from other high-end properties (and actually slightly better than what I get from Wynncore, whom I’ve probably given a bit more action).

Like other members have pointed out, Cosmo has been doing the status match since it opened in December 2010. They matched my Grazie Gold with their Identity Gold when i switched to Cosmo early 2011. I was assigned a host then and he offered me comp nights and F&B credit just to try the hotel/casino out. Been staying at teh Cosmo since then. I agreed that it took a while before you get on their radar to send you marketing offers as it took about 6 months for me before i start receiving emails from them on a regular basis. I do notice that they are slowly taking away some of the benefits that they used to offer to Platinum but as long as i get my free play and comp nights (mostly through my host in addition to the marketing offers), i am ok with giving them my business.

I recently matched my Plat at Mlife to Cosmo. I've only played a couple times at Cosmo this year and none at all last year so I havent received anything yet. Its only been a couple months and only played a few hundred for 45min each time so we'll see what comes around in the next few weeks.

I'm staying at Cosmo in 4 weeks so I'm sure I'll get to play there more this coming trip.
Hoping some offers roll through at least.

BTW: how are you guys getting your Cosmo offers? by email? As far as I know the website isnt working for Identity right?

I remember trying this last year to no avail. I have gold status at V/P, and was told they do not match that status. The person at the Identity desk did reprint my card to say Platinum, supposedly so I could pass lines at certain clubs and such, but they did away with that after their 2nd (3rd, 4th???) card revamp.

Yes the website has been down for ages and i cant figure out how could a website be down for so long (didnt bother to check with my host anyway). I receive all the offers via email or snail mail or you can just call up Identity and get them to check for you if there are any offers in your account. Not sure 45 minutes of play is going to get you any actions for comps but give them a call and see if they can offer you casino rate or something.

When I check-in will they let me know about this birthday champagne? I thought the priority access to the clubs was dead? As hotel patrons we have a separate line but I thought that was all it was now...

Will the Cosmo accept the top card from Boyd, Stations, Silverton, or The Palms for this offer?

I think that this is an outdated list of benefits. Cosmopolitan downgraded the tier benefits a fair amount recently. For Gold, the site lists the following:

    FOR LODGERS

    Choice of:

    Complimentary Fitness Center Access
    One in-room movie per visit
    Complimentary Wi-Fi
    Included:
    Arrival amenity
    Early check-in and/or check-out (based on availability)

    ALL GOLD MEMBERS ALSO GET

    Monthly Artifact
    Dedicated reservations hotline
    24 hour advanced ticket sales
Priority access to The Wicked Spoon
    Invitations to special tournaments
Qualify by earning 20,000 Identity Points in a 12-month period.

The biggest hit to me is the suite upgrade. We took advantage of this a couple of times and it was definitely a nice perk.

That will not even get on their radar. You are setting yourself up for some real disappointment.
