Default Slot tournaments?

Has anyone tried to schedule their Vegas trip to coincide with any slot tournaments nearby casinos may have scheduled. I thought a slot tournament might be fun to pass some time while in Vegas plus a slight(very slight) chance to win some free play.

Sure, great way to get decent room rates/package. I played in a VP tournament (ok, not slots per say but sure they offer same thing) years back and the entry fee was like $100 and that included 2 nights lodging, discounts etc.

Just google slot tournaments las vegas and you will get tons of good information and listings of current slot tournaments. Looks like Bellagio has some big ones coming up soon.

In my TR offers it says that there is a slot tournament in June at Ballys but it doesn't give dates - you might call them.

Last year I did a slot tournament at Encore I think in June.

We zipped over to Wynn a couple of times last summer for slot tournaments. They were invitationals and came with free rooms for a couple of nights each. Great way to beat the heat and get out of town every couple of weeks.

NYNY had them twice a week, but I am not sure if they still do. I'll be there in two weeks and will be able to let you know, unless someone else does first!

I know most tournaments are invite only, but is there a good resource on the Internet to find out when they are? I played in one at Flamingo last year and the Golden Nugget two years ago. I have also played a couple times in the daily at Excalibur. I see some casinos post them on their sites, but I cannot find the majority of them. Or maybe I don't get the invites because I am not the target demographic.

I am going to the Three Slots to the Win 150K tournament at the Flamingo June 16-17, but I think you have to get an invite. I am not sure if you can buy in. Also, all Caesar's property tournaments in Las Vegas only pay in free play now (at least the one's that I get invites to). Their other properties still have some tournaments (like Millionaire Maker qualifiers) that pay cash.
