Here to get idea's on how to Surprise Hubby w/Vegas Trip for our 20th Anniversary!
Just found this sight and would love to get idea's from everyone on how to Surprise my Husband with a trip to Las Vegas. I am planning a party 3 days before we leave. At a "Casino Themed Party" I plan on having a drawing & my husband will of course win a couple prizes, one being a trip to Vegas. Anyone have any suggestions. Would love to hear some more ideas. We leave in 47 days and he know's nothing. I am taking him on a Helicopter Tour & to the "Love" Show at Mirage. Thank You....

cool
Sounds like great fun. I have surprised my wife with several trips to all kinds of places. The time I did it to Vegas she didn't have a clue until we were boarding the plane and the ticket agent said have a great time in Vegas sir. I was so mad. it was pre 9-11 so i could check us in and we had a connecting flight so she wouldnt have known for another hour where we were going.
I would say maybe "let him win" a hand of black jack at said party and that is the "special" hand that you win a real casino trip with. I dunno. I will think some more about it. I am sure there are plenty of great ideas yet to come. Have a great time!!!

This is a great idea!
A friend of mine is planning a surprise trip to vegas for her husband, and is telling him he is going to San Diego until they get to the airport. This seems like fun, but some of us guys like to 'prep' before a trip to vegas, for example study up on basic strategy for blackjack, review a poker book or too, etc. I would hate to find out at the airport that I am going to vegas without my favorite cheat sheets for video poker! Your idea avoids this and still gives him a fun surprise!

Thank You for your suggestions. I have made arrangements with his boss for a week off and he doesn't even have a clue. Our Anniversary was August 5th so he won't be expecting a thing. Keep the idea's coming. Most of the friends that will be at the party already know about the surprise trip. So they will be in on the Surprise.

I don't have any suggestions, but I think it's a great idea! I wanted to surprise DH with our trip for his 30th birthday, but I couldn't keep my mouth shut! Good luck!

Welcome to the board! What an awesome idea. I surprised my hubby for his 40th birthday with a trip to Vegas but it wasn't nearly as planned out as yours. Hope you have a great trip, please let us know how it goes.

great idea!
i think you've got a great idea there!
i surprised my husband for his 32nd birthday...we took a road trip--i didn't tell him where we were going...once we got into the hotel and we were listening to the radio he was able to figure out that we were going to a particular concert when there was an advertisement on the radio...
what he didn't figure out until it happened was that i had arranged for his musical idol to call him (this was shortly after katrina and brian wilson agreed to make phone calls to people who donated a certain amount to the red cross...he also matched the contributions--very nice man)
as far as once you are in vegas, the one time we went to vegas we saw a celine dion concert and at the concert celine helped a man propose...maybe you could go to some concert or vegas show and arrange with the venue to mention something...
or you could surprise him with wedding vow renewal (officiated by elvis if he's so inclined)...
just some thoughts

This is just an idea - I used to do this with a lot of Christmas/B-day gifts - I called it "succession gifts." What you do, is you give him small gifts leading to the "grand prize"!!! So, here's a list of "succession gifts" -
1. A roll of quarters
2. A deck of cards
3. A pair of dice
4. A pair of comfortable shoes
5. A wallet
6. Twenty one dollar bills
7. A book on his favorite game (e.g. Video Poker, Roulette, etc)
Don't forget to wrap each one of these gifts and, when you give him the last one - make it seem like he's got everything he's going to get. Delay the "grand prize" a bit - still making him feel like he got all his gifts. Somehow, either through the drawing or some other means - give him the tickets to Vegas!
Good luck and have fun!

WoW! Thank You everyone for sharing your suggestions & kind words. What great idea's from everyone. I am so excited. I can't wait to see the expression on his face when he finds out infront of all of our friends. Keep the suggestions coming and after I have the party, I will post how it went & what I actually did to finally tell him. Only 47 more days and counting.
