Congrats to all of u...I am one of those who has never had it work. Then again, I always wind up with female check in clerks....that frontdesk sight does say that it works better with males. Best I have ever done was a $50 nite suite upgrade at Gold Coast...the "list" price had I booked it was $50 more than that so I took it. Going to try the $20 trick again next month in AC at the Showboat. Will see what happens.

Default help with trying $20 trick at TI...

i want to try the $20 trick at TI and i need to have a room with 2 queen beds....i am checking in on a monday so i think there should be decent room inventory...i usually do a little research and let the front desk person know what type of room i was hoping for as opposed to just asking for an 'upgrade'

from the TI website is looks like most of the suites are king beds as are the Panoramic rooms...within reason, what is my best case scenario?? ask for a strip view on a high floor??

the panoramic rooms seemed interesting but it looks like they are only king...

any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I got a petite suite with a front desk tip at the TI once, but like you say I think all of the larger stuff is king bed only.

I've been offered a corner room before (more windows, but never been in one), so you may want to try that.

I would think you should be able to get a basic room with a view by just asking.

The Petite suite at TI does come with 2 queen beds as well. We were unpleastantly surprised by that a few trips ago.

Ditto! I tried again last week at Paris and was shot down once again. I was offered an upgrade to a suite for an additional $80 per night which might have actually been a great deal compared to what some people pay for those. I had to pass and just took the room they gave me.

I'm just on an incredilble streak I think....

It's all in who you get, and what you say, and the availability

Now that's really bad luck, since according to the TI web site the Petite Suite only comes with a king bed. I wonder if they actually tried to pawn another room off on you as a Petite Suite. The way that room is layed out, they would have a tough time even getting 2 queens in there. Of course, there's always the room or two that's the exception to the rule.

I was looking at this room one time and needed two beds, and they told me upfront the Petite Suite only came with one king bed. Very interesting...

It was definately a petite suite...had the his and her bathrooms and same layout. And yes the website does say the petite only comes with a king bed. The manager said I was mistaken when I pointed that out to him.

So to the poster who wants the 2 queens in the petite suite, there are some rooms with that option.
