    sigh.

The casino that is always having craps players direct to it, the casino that is famous for it's craps game, is down to only one table now. And it only offers 20X max odds.

It all started when they did away with the tub. I loved that little crap table.

    sigh.

Just reporting what I saw in my walk through last weekend.

casino royale down to one table confirmed

I called them and confirmed it. Don't they know they are cutting their own throat? The Casino Royale has been the primer destination for the Game of craps for as long as I can remember please call them and express your dismay the General Manager's name is Juan Garcia.

Go to your window and yell, "I'm not going to take it anymore and I'm mad as hell!" Then go back to your couch and turn on "Honey Boo Boo " BACK ON.

THIS IS THE END OF VEGAS AS WE KNOW IT.

This is the typical... that has occurred over and over again.

Nothing new about the CR downgrade.

The CR will be sold, and this is the typical pattern.

Why does everyone get overblown on this anymore. :nono:

Like Bills, it gone, just not yet.......

So what more do you want to know about the CR future?

It's a dead horse, and place we loved too. But it is going away, OK?

So after CR dies, what is left in Mid Strip, that was table game friendly to low rollers?

    Nothing, for you have...

CET properties dominating the area, Belliago, MGM Mirage, the TI (who are they with again?).

I guess there is always the BackStage behind the Flamingo... hehe haha, hoho...

I think the Quad has $5 craps.

I'm not a craps player, but this is a classic example of shooting yourself in the foot, as I'd heard for years on end that the only place on the Strip to shoot craps was CR.

Wonder what they'll become known for now? That world famous Best Western Continental breakfast.:evillaugh

I wonder what the business case would be for doing this? Someone must be looking at a spreadsheet somewhere.

Obviously they feel they can make more (or lose less) money by replacing the game with slots or another table game.

Yes, I was flabbergasted. Casinos spend millions on things to draw people into their casino. Fountains, lions, shows in the sky, etc etc.
Here Casino Royale had something that at the worst (doubt it) lost a negligible amount, yet drew people in. Even better, it created an exciting, party atmosphere, with the tableS whooping and hollering because chances are that one of the tables was winning.

I have been involved in more than one "contest" where our table was trying to make more noise than the other table. Don't tell me that does not have a value to creating a vibe for a casino. Priceless almost.

I just shake my head at some of the decisions the suits make.

I have been staying downtown more and more. This Strip stay trip has only strengthened my desire to do more so in the future.

My favorite cocktailer in Vegas that I talked to while I was in Casino Royale gave me the owners name to make comments to. I will post it later when I find it.

I've been going there for many years just to play Craps. And of course my wife would bang away on one of their many Wheel of Fortune machines.

This was the only place I knew of that still offered 100X odds. One table was $3 20X odds the others were $5 100X. Remember the old Craps Tub? We used to sit at that for hours.

Back in the day they used to have a low limit pair of Roulette wheels. My wife would sit there happy as a clam while I rolled those bones.

I've won there many times, and lost a time or two but it was always a gas.

On a hot day we'd go for those 241 slurpee margaritas or bottles of beer 2 for a buck. They had the coupon sheet where if you hit a jackpot of $40 or more on the Wheel of Fortune you'd get an extra $10 bucks.

They actually had some playable Video Poker at the bar as well. You could always get a parking spot in back by going in from Koval beside Harrah's rear entrance. Then hoof it down to Margaritaville for some great corn chowder and a few cocktails for her and a beer or two for me.

Allot of folks don't know they(Margaritaville) have a patio bar up on the second floor with a tropical motif. You could always get a drink at the bar with no waiting and a seat overlooking the Strip.

What now? Man it's getting to the point for me there's really no reason to even go to the Strip anymore. In fact my last two trips I stayed Downtown and went over to Ellis Island for their craft beers and Video Poker.

They screwed up casino royale when they put the food court in the back. It seemed to lose it's charm. Charm? if you like cigarette smoke and the smell of stale beer and grease. My kind of place!

The Quad's been under construction and they are doing anything to bring people in. But as soon as it's finished it will turn into just another cookie cutter Harrah's property with 6 to 5 Black Jack and bad slot machines an higher minimums. Just wait and see.

At even $10 Craps minimum you can have a couple of hundred bucks out there in short order and if that nasty 7 comes it hurts. Of course you can also win but as a low roller these days I like to keep it sparse as far as the gambling budget and up the ante when I'm already winning.

I refuse to pay a resort fee anyway so Harrah's is out. You can vote with your wallet man but most folks just take in the you know where.

Are you a low roller if you put $3 on the line and back it with 10X odds, then have two come bets with 10X odds too? That's what I would do at Casino Royale all the time. But the cost to play other places is getting up there at $5, and at $10, forget it.

Like I said, yes I remember the Tub very fondly. Hours and hours spent there. I complained to management when they took it out. You see how much good that did!

The Quad is not waiting to become a cookie cutter Harrah's ripoff joint. I saw at just a regular table, no impersonators or dancing babes, an eight deck shoe paying 6/5. I just shook my head.

Staying downtown, you don't have to go to Ellis Island for the things you mention. Main Street Station makes fine brew pub beer that you can enjoy while playing full pay JOB at The Boar Bar.

The last time I played craps at CR, I put the dealers on the line when I rolled, and they seemed shocked that someone actually toked them at their $3 table.
And sure enough the rest of the time I was there (about 2 hours) I watched carefully and noted that I was the only player who was tipping the dealers.
    I felt bad for them.

They cant reovate them all at the same time so there will always be a cheap place to go to have fun.

Riviera i see is offering $1 beers so thats encouraging!!

I think the Riviera is on life support. Heck the SDX bus doesn't stop anywhere near there, the Slots a Fun is a joke and the Sahara is closed.

I don't see that part of the Strip coming back until they finish the Echalon Place.

Some foreign investors are looking into it now for an Asian themed resort. That would work out as the Asians have more money than we do now, and there are certainly more of them who would come to Las Vegas.

I would loudly asked if they accepted tips and then ask how I would do it. Some times it would get other players to start toking.

More than once the dealers would thank me later.

And the owner's name is Tom Elardi.

A few "WTF" emails might do something. Probably not.

Wow...I did not expect to read this. That place was ALWAYS packed at the dice tables.

That is one of my favorite places to shoot craps. Yeah it's a run down hole with sometimes surly dealers but it was fun.

And I too would be met with shock from the dealers when I'd toke them.

Damn...I bet this doesn't last long.

Just picked up this blurb on Wikipedia and it sounds current. Looks like it depends on the table min. what the odds will be.

"The casino until recently offered 100 times odds on craps at all times. Casino Royale now offers 100 times odds only when offering a $5 minimum bet (usually weekends), and offers 20 times odds when offering a $3 minimum bet (usually weekdays)."

One table? They must be out of their damn minds. I've never been to Casino Royale when the two or three tables they had weren't jam packed. That place would cease to be on my radar if the dropped craps all together.

I remember my first trip back to Vegas after a ten year absence in 2009. Casino Royale was our go to spot with all of its seedy charm. I can afford to play anywhere now but I still enjoy a dive every now and then.

    +1

Although I feel partly responsible for it. I've won more at the Royale and "redistributed" it to the bigger casinos than the reverse. Guess I won't have a reason to go down to that end of the strip anymore.
