With the annual drop dead/ renewal date fast approaching, just wondering if anyone has gotten an "invite" at this point.

A friend just got an invite to their annual renewal shindig at Gold Strike even though he is short the supposed million mark.

Probably some glitch, but my TCs just doubled on the mlife site and I have been to any of their casinos since April 4th.

My invite to gold strike for renewal is for platinum

Greg, I noticed (last night) that my TCs went way up, although not doubled. Also, we use my husbands card 99% of the time so technically he is gold and I am Sapphire but my account shows the same level and TCs as his. Most of the offers are the same as well, where usually they are not even close to his offers.

I/we am still 84k short of Platinum so I won't chase it this MLife year.

If your account shows the same tier level and TC then your accounts are linked. Sounds like the accounts were linked and TC combined.

what is this you speak of? aside from the initial conversation a few years back when Mlife first launched in Biloxi and I asked my host about Noir and was invited, I've never heard of or been to any "renewal" shindig.

My Bellagio host sent me an email saying I could come by the host office and pick up a new Noir card when I am in town next month (my current one has a September expiration, although I don't think anyone ever looks at it). Then last night I also got an email from my host at Goldstrike Tunica (probably the same email referenced in this thread above) inviting me there in a couple weekends for a renewal party to pick up a new Noir card and get a free gift (either shoes or some jewelry). So it sounds like the renewal party may just be a Goldstrike thing. Wouldn't surprise me. Seems like they have a Noir only event every couple weeks there.

My Noir card has a date of January, 2012 and it works just fine in the machines. I've never spent the time to get a new one and nobody has ever flinched at this one. Hmmmmmm I have 1.6 mln TC's and haven't received an invite for NOIR either. Didn't even know I was supposed to get one as my account still says NOIR on it.

I think I will continue to play ignorant and see what happens.

I have 3.4mil TC's (that's not an inflated number...that was my total at the end of my last trip), and I have an invite in my MLife portal to a Platinum renewal party in Tunica. I haven't played in Tunica since 2001, but maybe they think the downgrade will be worth the trip. I realize Noir is based on theo\actual loss this year, but it will be interesting to find out what those numbers are if anyone's host let's them know. I have an actual loss of $26k+ since last Oct 1st at MGM properties. My theo is probably less than that as I've run bad at Aria pretty consistently.

To be honest, the only thing I'd miss at not being Noir is the cruise benefit...and it's still unknown if RCCL will renew that deal.

the number is the same number it used to be which is $100k theo or $150k actual loss per year. this has been confirmed by my host.

however, if you have 3.4M TCs, that comes out to $113k in theo with the earning rate being 30 TCs per $1 theo. and the 30/$1 theo number seems to be correct as last trip I had 37k theo and picked up about 1.1M TCs.

so I don't see why you wouldn't be invited. I would call my host at whatever they consider your "home" casino and ask what's going on. it's possible you just got overlooked. when I first was invited to Noir, they didn't come to me, I came to them and asked and they looked it over and approved me.

it's going to take about 3M TCs to get an invite for NOIR for next year.

edit: as was clarified below, that's for table games players only. for slots it's probably close, if not a bit less. for VP it's a lot more.

interestingly my card always has the month it was printed as the expiration date. I think it has to do with how your account is coded in the system. I wouldn't be surprised if they have different codes in the system as I know they can and do code accounts differently for other things. I talked to the main guy at the Beau about something similar and he said he sends a list of his best players to corporate and they flag them so we continue to receive ECs since this year they started automatically disabling EC earning for anybody who's received airfare.

the Beau also doing Noir events about every month or sometimes more often. but I've never heard of one that was specifically labeled a "renewal" event.

If if you stopped playing and dropped levels, the card is still gonna work. Your account number does not change.

That's the number for table games. He plays VP, so his TCs are just earned on coin-in. That's $3.4MM coin-in on games that have ~ 0.50% HA, even if they're generous and use 2% he would still be way under $100k theo. This return to the basing things on theo is going to thin the ranks of NOIR VP players more so than anyone else.

ah, that makes so much more sense. VP does earn TCs at a much higher rate vs theo than slots or tables. I've actually talked to my host about VP and they generally hate VP players. they earn lots of points and stuff, but their theo is incredibly low, so it's terrible for the host.

Yes, correct. I earn about $8-10k of theo per trip with around 3 trips per year...definitely not anything to sneeze at, but if MGM wants to make their top tier be defined as someone with a higher theo than that, it's their decision. Being Noir for around 10 nights/yr doesn't have that much util to me.

We have played at Aria 5 times since last oct 1. I earned 300K TC's on my solo trip earlier this month (see trip report) so am definitely at least platinum....... but, I am primarily a vp player with about 25% thrown in for slots. if Aria doesn't like me any more, there are definitely other fish in the pond. This was my first Aria trip this year without that giant wallet sucking sound!

I always end up at about 900,000 TCs for my 3 trips a year so I don't ever expect a Noir invitation.
I lost enough this MLife year so it's probably better.

But if you reprint your card your old card will be dead with MLIFE and your new card will reflect your current tier.

This happened to us the last trip, someone in our group was Platinum, but expired. His platinum card worked in the machines, but he wanted me to play on his card as well. I was staying with CET and didnt want to log a trip any way. So he got a new copy of his card printed, it was now gold, and his old card no longer worked. So we had to go back in line and get 2 new cards printed. The card he had printed out just 15 minutes ago? It no longer worked as well!
