I will be in vegas next weekend for my first solo trip!! What bars can you all recommend that have live cover bands? I love to go dancing to live music especially rock music. I am not much of a drinker and definately do not want to go to any clubs where you have to get all dolled up and stand in line for hours. I couldn't even imagine trying to walk around vegas in heels. On past trips I have been to margaritaville and they usually have a band that is pretty good but they dont have one listed for that weekend. I will also check out carnival court since I just read they will be re-opening early and they usually have decent bands and a fun atmosphere. Has any one had any experience with Octane lounge at the excalibur? They say they have bands and rock music but can't find much info about it. I will be staying at the Mirage but I dont mind walking the down the strip for a great place.

Indigo Lounge at Bally's has some great cover bands, we've had fun there in the past. It's kind of far from Mirage, but Mandalay Bay has the Eye Candy Lounge with cover bands too. When we stayed at PHo, the Heart bar did not have a band, but did have a good DJ.

PHo does have another bar/lounge area that often has a live band, though. I can't remember the name of it, but I know it's there because it was between where I was sitting at the Dark Knight slots and the bathroom, so I passed it several times.

If you're Downtown on Thursday then a must see is Yellow Brick Road. They play Fremont Street Thursday nights, 7-10pm on the 1st St Stage.

They also play South Point on Friday nights with a cover charge, 10pm; then Texas Station on Saturday nights no cover, 10pm.

The two casino's would probably be better for dancing unless you like dancing with homeless people under the FSE canopy.

I don't think you will be disappointed by Carnaval Court. We stop there every trip.

Planet Ho has off-again on-again bands at the stage kind of to the right of the walkway that goes from the main casino to the outside entrance on the Paris side. If you are by the entrance to Lucky Cheng, you are within earshot if there's a band on.

Paris Cabaret Lounge usually has a band on Friday and Saturday, but occasionally it seems like it's a deejay even on the weekend.

    Bally's often times has a Motown-type band.

Bill's used to have a band occasionally, but that's kind of a moot point now.

    And, Carnaval Court has bands.

Not sure if this place is closed with all the renovations at MB, but I enjoyed live music at Mizuya at MB when I was there last summer.

Walk to the Ballys indigo lounge. Can't miss it. Live bands and a lit of dancing in the lounge. Favorite on the strip
