On November 1st at 3 a.m., Aliante Station Casino will cease to exist. It will become Aliante Casino + Hotel -- no more "Station." The owners, Aliante Gaming LLC, have owned the place for a year, having gotten the property as part of Stations' bankruptcy settlement. Station Casinos has been managing it since then, but the owners have now brought in their own staff to take over.

The new slot club will be called simply the Aliante Players Club. There will be 4 card levels, and when people sign up for cards, they will start at a level similar to the one they have with Stations. Apparently the new management has some minimal database information from the Stations program that will tell us what level card a person had before. No points will be transferred from the Stations card, however -- these will remain with Stations and can be used at any of the other Station/Fiesta/Wildfire properties.

Promotions are planned that include 10X points daily. This will allow players to build up their points quickly. We will have a Seniors Day every Tuesday, including a slot tournament from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and half-point dining.

Speaking of dining -- there are new food & beverage people who are doing many menu re-do's. The main thing they stressed is that all food will be fresh and made on-site. Since they will not be purchasing pre-packaged foods for 18 properties as Stations does, the chefs at Aliante will be able to be more innovative, and all sauces, spice combinations, etc. will be done here.

The buffet will be renamed Medley Buffet.

Cabo will become the Salted Lime and will feature authentic Mexican food.

Pasta Cucina will be renamed Bistro 57 (the 57 is in tribute to Nellis AFB and is the name of something there, which I don't recall the details of, lol). It will open daily at 7 a.m. and serve breakfast and lunch, as well as dinner. Dinner will feature Mediterranean/European dishes -- all sauces and spice combinations done on-site, as I mentioned. In addition to serving breakfast, there will be a coffee bar in Bistro 57.

MRKT Sea & Land will not change -- same name, etc. I believe the food court vendors are all staying.

The slot floor will be shut down completely at 10 p.m. on October 31st for the changeover. They hope to have it fully operating by noon on November 1st.

Pasta Cucina and Cabo will close at the end of the day on Sunday, October 28th. They will reopen with their new names and menus by the 2nd or 3rd of November.

The race and sports book will be owned and operated by the new management as a totally independent book, one of the few in Nevada, they said.

The new GM, Terry Downing, knows what he's doing. He has 16 years of experience with Station Casinos and was GM at 7 different Stations properties over the years. He and the other top executives are very knowledgable and customer-friendly, and we're expecting they'll be great to work with. Team members who wanted to stay will still have their jobs, including seniority, start date, benefits, etc. We've lost a lot of "middle management" people, who have already transferred to other Station properties, including all of our casino hosts. So there will be a lot of new faces, as well.

Training sessions begin this coming week (10/22) so we can learn all the details of issuing cards, comps, etc. I'm going to give it a chance and see how I like working with the new people. If I don't, I can always retire again, lol.

It'll be stressful in the beginning -- I'll be working lots of hours, because there are so many people who will be signing up for new cards. I don't know for sure yet, but assume they will have other places to sign up in addition to just the rewards center, such as kiosks located around the casino, and sign-up parties for our bigger players. At least, I hope so, lol.

Many of our regular guests are now cashing out their points or spending them in the restaurants. We've told them they won't lose them and will be able to use them at other Stations/Fiestas, but they all say "we don't want to go there -- Aliante is so close -- we live right across the street, etc." (That's why I'm still there -- I live right across the street and don't want to drive to Santa Fe to work, lol.) And Aliante is so much nicer than the other casinos within a few miles from us -- cleaner, newer, less smoky, etc. :)

It will be interesting in the next few month to see if I get any offers from Aliante. For the last year through stations I have been offerred 3 free nights every 2 months at the Aliante or other station casino. I have always picked Aliante for the free nights as it is where I need to stay while on business in town and I like the place, esp in the summer. I have stayed 3 times and hope they get some records of my play there during those trips.

Best of luck to you and them in the transition.

Glad to hear good things about the rebranding and such. I've played there several times and always had a good time. Unfortunately my friends live on the other side of town and end up staying close to them.

When we're back in town over Xmas I'll have to check it out. Hopefully tey will add a baccarat table as part of their transition.

I wonder when Aliante's new website will be up. I guess not until after November 1. I'm disappointed that the hosts will all be replaced. We are happy to hear that the new Aliante Player's card will start out at an equivalent level to that of the Station's boarding pass. Wifey and I are both at the President level through the end of June 2013, so I assume when we go back to Aliante in May 2013, we'll be at the equivalent to the President level but with new player's cards. Hmmmmmm, I wonder if we can sign up for the new player's card online and if that could help to get offers sent to us.

Steve, since you're already in the Aliante database, the new management should have your basic information. They've been sending out mailers to some people ... maybe you'll get one. I believe they're entering the information they have into the system and assigning players card numbers, but you'll need to come in person to finish the sign-up process.

Once the website is up (aliantegaming.com), they may have a way for you to request that you be on the mailing list (most casino websites do). But you won't get a card until you come in and show your ID.

Sue, can you find out what happens with table game comp balances? I would hope they're not just going to wipe them out since they could only be used at Aliante...I asked one of the pit bosses back in August and she had no idea...

    New aliante

Well, I got my player's card yesterday. They gave me $200 in freeplay just for showing up and then I won $3 on the welcome card deal in the card kiosk -- so $203 for a 1 hour wait to get the new cards -- not bad. They match your station's casino level when signing up. I then went into high limit, promptly lost the $200 on the $5 Triple Diamond slot and decided to play a little at their nice high limit bar. I played $1 Double Bucks (at $9 a spin) and hit for $3800 and was very happy that I had stopped in. (OF course I lost $2000 of that before I left -- but still happy). Nothing much has changed except new names for restaurants and much better on-floor cocktail service.

Is that $200 for anyone that shows up?

    Money for signing up

No, I was invited to sign up because I am Chairman stations and was a regular Aliante customer. The woman behind me was offered $100 and she was Chairman, so I don't know how they figured it.

Has anyone heard when Aliante plans to hire Casino Hosts? No idea what they're waiting for and why they didn't offer the previous hosts jobs at the new Aliante Casino.

Does anyone know if the 100% VP machines are still $4 in = 3 points? And in regard to the credits earned towards the Player's Card level, is it still $1 in = 1 status credit? Are there the same 6 month periods that you earn status credits towards your level and is that level good through the current and next 6 month period? Is there any carryover like they did with Aliante Station? Inquiring minds want to know.

Wifey and I hope to return to Aliante in 2013 but we'll have to wait and see what they can offer us.
