Default question about best way to get tier credits with total rewards.

I recently got a total rewards card and was wondering the best way to get tier credits? I've read that 9/6 jack or better vp is one of the best ways. I know what jacks or better vp is, but what does the 9/6 stand for? Also, i was wondering if anyone could point me towards a good strategy guide on the best way to play 9/6 jacks or better. And does anyone know which casino in vegas has some 9/6 jacks or better and how do you know which machine is 9/6 jacks or better?

I'm new to this and am hoping someone here knows more than me about this. any help is appreciated.

9/6 refers to the paytable payoffs for a full house (9) or flush (6). A 9/6 Jacks or Better game is considered to be "full pay" in that the house advantage is very small.

Most video poker games use the full house / flush payback to adjust the house edge so that two number reference is often used as shorthand to describe the games.

You will have a very difficult time finding any 9/6 video poker games at any Harrahs casino in Vegas - or anything close to it for that matter. I saw one 9/6 machine in the high limit room at Paris - if you are willing to play at a $5 machine ($25 per hand max credits). 7/5 Jacks seems to be the norm in Vegas with alot of quarter machines set at 6/5.

Recent reports have indicated that Planet Hollywood has 8/5 bonus poker - which is the full pay version of bonus poker.

Go to www.wizardofodds.com for video poker strategy advice. Also www.vpfree2.com will provide information on games available at casinos nationwide.

    Gamble.

You earn 1 tier credit for every $5 played through slot machines and 1 tier credit for every $10 played through video poker.

There really isn't a "best way", you should play what you want to play and for how long you play and you will earn credits if your card is inserted into the machine.

9/6 Jacks of Better Video Poker has a very low house edge and thats why many video poker players look for it. But note that at most casinos you will not find it unless you are playing $1 machines or higher, at some casinos they don't have 9/6 Jacks or Better unless you are playing $5 per credit or higher (where max bet is $25).

You can also earn 28 tier credits an hour playing poker.

I would strongly suggest scanning through postings from the past month. You will find answers to things you did not even know enough to ask about.

the fast way to earn tier credits is regular slots. One of the slower ways is video poker. No matter what, you should NOT pick a game based on what tier credits you will earn. That could be very expensive. Play what you like to play.
