Are slot payouts any good at Palace Station, Santa Fe Station, South Point?

Will be in Vegas late March; staying at Mirage.
Renting a car for one day to casino hop up to three of the local casinos - haven't done that in 4 or 5 years.
I play $1.00 slots and my better half plays pennies and quarters....

Any comments on slot payouts at these 3 in particular that we are considering are most appreciated!

    South Point
    Santa Fe Station
    Palace Station

    Thanks!

Not sure on the payout schedules but did find something interesting at Southpoint a couple weeks ago. They have bartop blackjack that has all the options, double down, split, surrender versus everything I have seen on the Strip that only offers hit or stand. Still only paid one to one on blackjacks though.....

OK, my opinion on slots is that each "group" of casinos has roughly the same house PC.

    Strip
    Downtown
    Off-strip

Since gambling is a negative expectation game and slots are a negative expectation game as well, I choose to play where the backend rewards will partially offset my losses.

In Theory they might be a little better than strip, South Point should be the best of the 3 based on hearsay, rumors and general impressions.

The problem is that unless you are spending thousands of dollars on hundreds of different machines the average gambler wouldn't be able notice a difference of a couple percent points in slot payback. That's why so many people have different impressions about how tight the games at the same casino are.

I used to feel that I couldn't hit ANYTHING on the Strip, then I hit 4 handpays last year at Mirage, Venetian (2), and Wynn.

I hadn't been to Reno in almost 10 years, but hit a handpay last month on my first visit back.

Luck can happen anywhere and anytime.

Considering how liberal they are with bartop VP, I'm a bit surprised they didn't offer 5 for 2 (aka 3 to 2) on BJ. I found full-pay Super Times Pay and full-pay ultimate X at one of the bars last week...

Love South Point. Don't know about payback but they offer a lot of full pay VP if that tells you anything. Best part of South Point is it's huge so there is something for everyone. I've never been to Santa Fe but I did not like Palace Station at all. Grungy place and questionable clientele.

Thanks everyone for your helpful replies and opinions and website information! on slots.

Based on purely scientific research :wink2:

We will definitely give South Point a try, skip Palace Station, try Santa Fe Station - it has a Fatburger!
Win or lose at slots, we love our times in Vegas!!
    Thanks again...

Any reason you're choosing Santa Fe Station over Red Rock or GVR? These are the nicest Station properties (by far) and both are closer to the Mirage than Santa Fe.
Both RR and GVR have Fatburger and more importantly Capriotti's! Lucille's too, now that I think of it.

South Point - M Resort - GVR would be a decent route. Easy to score a free buffet at M if you're betting dollar slots.

I was actually wondering the same thing, and was also leaning toward paying South Point a long-overdue return visit. Glad that seems to be the consensus!

I think the food options there are pretty decent as well, I remember enjoying Baja Miguel's and their coffee shop last time I was there. They also have a great, huge bowling center if you want a break from the action.

We spend a few nights at South Point every trip. My bankroll lasts much longer there than anywhere on the strip. Husband finds some full pay VP there also. We've stayed there 5 times now and even on not-so-lucky days my SP slot play has been better than anywhere else. Spending the weekend there in a few weeks :) Like any casino if you stop in for a few hours your luck can be hit or miss.

I definitely would recommend this as a South of the Strip diversion.

    Thanks for the shoutout h_upmann!
Completely forgot about GVR - played there some years ago and liked it - so think we will do South Point then on to GVR and finish up with a Fatburger. Never been to M Resort - but will check it out for next time - when it comes to Vegas, there will always be a next time

Thanks everyone for all the helpful tips - one week to go before the crazy sets in...
