Mine was Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the International Amphitheatre in Chicago in the mids 1970s.
Late 80's A then little known band called Guns N Roses opening up for Aerosmith! A great time!!
I think it was Jethro Tull in1973 in Vancouver. I think Robin Trower opened for them. I think I saw Elton John the same year as well.
Guess I'm showing my age.
1984 - Huey Lewis & the News at Summerfest in Milwaukee.
Rush '76 (Akron, Ohio) followed by several "Day on The Green's" in Oakland when we moved to California that same year.
Not sure what the year was, but I saw Metallica sometime after releasing Load or Reload. For being one of my favorite bands at the time I thought the concert sucked. Not nearly enough of their old stuff that I grew up listening too.
Kiss 1976. The warmup band was some unknown group called Boston.
Mine was either Judas Priest (Defenders of the Faith) or Iron Maiden (Powerslave).
Both were pretty close to each other and I'm not sure which one was first.
Alice Cooper.....1973 in Seattle WA....boy, that was a wild night...not sure what I was thinking in those days:confused2:
Queen 1978 News of the World tour, Seattle Coliseum! First of 3 times I got to see Freddie live.
Venue: The Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville, TN (where else would this building be?)
Artist: Elton John
This was his "Back in the USSA" tour, having just returned from touring in the former USSR. The show featured him performing solo for half the concert. Then during "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding", the curtain behind him opened to reveal a wall of percussion and one man, Ray Cooper working his magic. Yes, the rest of the show was just the two of them.
I still remember the headline from the write-up in the paper the next morning: Piano & Percussion Plenty for Elton John Concert Goers.
I was 7...
The Monkees with Weird Al opening. I was so sad they got old and weren't the young guys I watched on nick at Night!
Three Dog Night with Rod Stewart opening at the Cotton Bowl.
LOL, do Crabby Appleton and Fire Over Gibraltar count here? (Those are about the first I can remember, LONG before I ever made it to Las Vegas!)
Boston 1979. The opener was Sammy Hagar.
Willie Nelson. I was 3.
First concert without any parents or other adults? Squeeze and Smithereens at Lake Compounce, Connecticut, 1987 We were in the front row (general admission) and it was still one of my favorite concerts! The next summer, I went to my first Jimmy Buffett concert (with my uncle and his girlfriend at the time - who is now his wife of 23 years)
Bryan Adams 1985 in Toronto
Weezer at the Avalon in Boston when I believe it was 95 or 96
ZZ Top 1976 Boston Garden
have now seen them 8 times since and coming to Comcast center in Mansfield Mass Sept 8th with Lynard Skynrd (who ive seen 2x)
Photo from my on stage ticket at LVH 8/2010
I can't truly remember, being from a small city in Alberta (looks at Macker and Gaggles ) but I would say probably the Guess Who circa summer of 1972 ~ playing at the Fair Grounds ........ saw lots of Canadian bands back in those days , who came thru Lethbridge
