    My Trip Report

I absolutely LOVE these trip reports....although I'm sitting here torturing myself since I still have another 2+ months til we go!

Back in the beginning of Jan, we had planned a Feb trip -- Feb 20 for 3 nights....3 nights comp at the MGM...one air ticket on miles and another ticket paid, but cheap. I was so excited. THEN, my husband says we can't go because he can't get the time off of work. I couldn't bring myself to get back on the message board and read about everyone's wonderful Vegas trips and I spent many nights crying my eyes out because I'm thinking we aren't going to get another chance to go for a long time.... (sad right??)

Well, then my parents tell me that they want to take our kids somewhere for a few days at the beginning of June -- BINGO! That was our chance to go somewhere kid-less!! I hopped on the computer as fast as I could and started checking promos and flight prices. No comps offered yet but I did get a good promo deal at NYNY which I'm going to hang onto unless I get a comp offer closer to the date. AND, we are going during the week so this will be out first trip not having to deal with the weekend crowds and high-limit tables. Buying one flight on miles and got a great rate of $198 on AA roundtrip from DFW.

So, for about 2 weeks now I have been eating, sleeping and breathing Vegas. I watched the implosion of the Stardust and almost cried...I check my players club account every singel day hoping for the appearance of a comp offer....I put together a "savings plan" and we will be living on the bare minimum until we go just so we can have a larger bankroll for whatever we choose to do...my hubby and I are watching every and any Vegas show we can on the Travel channel, followed by "Vegas Vacation" every night as we go to sleep....the list goes on and on. I'm obsessed!!!

The worst thing about going to Vegas (and the ONLY bad thing about going) is having to come home and wait until your next trip!! Although the anticipation of the trip ranks right up there as torture......

So, I figure that after about 11 or 12 trips, we're bound to win "the big one" sooner or later .......or at least that the odds might be in our favor finally....well, I guess I can dream about that right??

If you are anxious now, by this time next week, you will implode. In progress trip reports from the buffoon nation will have you hitting the refresh button on you computer like and old lady in a slot tourney.

80 days is easy. The last 5 suck BAD.

Don't sweat it, before you know it you'll be getting on that freedom bird to the promised land. While you wait impatiently for that moment you can live vicariously through the trip reports of others. That's what I'll be doing until my time comes to make the magical rip myself.

That is so true and so sucky: Time slows down when you have a countdown going. As soon as the countdown hits 0, time speeds back up again, and you are on a plane leaving Vegas going "Wow, that went by too fast!"
