    Hi fellow VMB'ers.

I was reading one of our posters threads about taking a break at the tables and it got me thinking of something opposite that happened on my last trip.

This is at the craps tables. There was this one dude who would take up a space at the craps table and hold his chips in his hand. I would guess maybe he has about $50 in red chips. He would stand there and not play. He would watch and watch, and occasionally laugh and hoot it up with the other players. But he would hold on to his chips and watch and watch.

Oh and when the CW comes around he orders a beer. Slick.

I would shake my head, get up and go do something else and maybe a couple hours later I return and there he is, chips in hand, watching. Granted he could've played some so I sit and watch him. And I swear he never plays a hand.

And this same scenario would play out everyday of my trip. On some days I would be playing on the same table as him and he just stands there, chips in hand, watching.

Oh and when the CW comes around you know what he does....super slick.

Well finally, maybe on my 2nd to last day or so I'm on the same table as slick and finally... FINALLY the pit boss calls him out on it. They get into a heated exchange and he walks off in a huff.

Man, you would think the casino would've acted upon this sooner. He did return hours later and I recall he did drop a red on the passline.

Anybody ever seen instances like this? Slick, no?

Edit to add: Slick never tipped the CW. (not too slick....)

I see it at the Orleans all of the time. There though, the guys just wait until they get the dice.Then.....the show starts. Grab all six dice, drop them a dozen times until you get the set you want........pick them up and fumble with them for a minute or two, and then set them down and do some "finger push-ups" on the felt. Now, pick the dice up and fire them down the table, and watch one bounce into the slots machine section. Repeat.

I can't find a spot at the tables half of the time, and you have 4 of these ass clowns at every open table!

Hey, I get he likes to watch the action. I could never do it, but some people are happy to just watch - craps, bj, slots, etc.

I do think the pit boss should have talked to the CW earlier and told her no drinks, and by the way, he does not tip. Shut the shithead down.

If he tipped her, I wonder how much longer the pit boss would have let it go. Maybe he got a call from surveillance too.

I try to mooch drinks too, but I still like to poke buttons. My last trip, I tended to poke them faster...Uh Oh...:evillaugh:

Ahhh if it bothers you why watch him so intently? Just mind your own business people do as they do. Look for fun, dont look for things that will bother you.

No. doesn't bother me. I like to people watch. I'm sure if you've been around these forums lots of other members like to do the same.

And I love craps, so I will watch tables and players intently. He just happened to be there, doing something that's a little out of norm.

Just wanted to share a unique experience, in hopes of drumming up light conversations of other instances similar to this one.

Bothersome? No. Actually I thought it was quite funny.

Maybe he could head down to the Venetian or Palazzo and keep tabs on the new triple zero roulette! He can stiff the CW while Sheldon stiffs his customers.

he actually has the most advantage play of all.. never lose a dime and get all the free beer you want.
Ive played a lot of craps in my lifetime, and I've seen it all..usually those type of players will be ONE chip on the pass line when it's their turn to shoot, or, if the pit will let them, they'll be one chip on each side (pass/don't pass)..this is called the "beer bet".
Personally I can't stand to watch craps and not be betting...unless someone is betting black chips or above, then it becomes entertaining.

I do it all the time at the roulette tables.. I tip a few bucks a drink though.. and I gamble my fair share so I do not feel bad.. I do not like to brag about it because I do not want everyone doing it lol

I think some of these guys buy in, get their card in the system, make a couple of bets and then do the stand and watch thing, thinking they're being rated the whole time.

Because people like that are the reason they're changing the way they give comped drinks playing VP at the bars.

Rush, was it a tall, skinny black guy with a Raiders hat? That's who I saw doing that in May at the Orleans. I was playing video poker across the aisle from the craps pit, and he was loudly cussin' every time he lost. I have no problem with swear words, just not at TOP VOLUME. After about 10 minutes, 5-6 people left the table, leaving just him and one other player.
