What are the best day hikes in Yosemite?

Where is the best place to lodge?

Any other relevant information would be great!

    Planning a trip over thanksgiving.

    Thanks!!

Lodging in the park over Thanksgiving can be hard to come by, so make your reservation soon. The Awhanee is the primo resort in the park, but the Yosemite Lodge is fine. I love staying at Cedar Lodge outside the park, in El Portal. (Yes, even after the murder there.) There are also lots of lodging options outside the park in Oakhurst and that area.

Best day hikes is a difficult question to answer without more info about your fitness levels and interests. You can walk the trails around Happy Isles, up to Nevada/Vernal Falls, Mirror Lake, 4 Mile Trail down from Glacier Point (but not if it's snowing already by then), climb Yosemite Falls, etc. We took our bikes the year after the big valley flood and rode all over the paths and really enjoyed seeing the valley that way.

Lots of info on their web page can help get you started - http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/guide.htm
