Staying at Encore for 5 nights next month and have never stayed there before. Not a high roller by any means but have a Wynn players card and got a terrific offer in the mail that was too good to pass up. The room comes with "2 free lunch buffets daily".

Just wondering -- does anybody think this is the sort of thing I might be able to tip the desk clerk to get amended so that the passes can be used for any buffets and not just lunch? Not trying to be difficult, just don't know if we will be at the hotel each day during lunch and would hate to waste the free buffets. Thanks!

We just returned last week from the Encore and had a similar offer. The buffets are charged back to the room and the room ledger is adjusted at the end of your stay. I don't think a tip to the front desk agent would help make an adjustment to the offer. The breakfast buffet is less than the lunch buffet, so I'm pretty sure they would work with you on either having a breakfast or lunch. Have a great time!

I don't think the check-in desk has any authority to change things outside of room-type. But I'm sure there is someone in the marketing or casino services area that can help you out. The person at the check-in desk may be able to refer you to someone.

Depends on which desk u went to. Reg or VIP one. I had comp that Included 2 breakfast per day. I booked the Salone suite.. But had no intention to stay the night. I stayed til 11pm then left ( a shame cuz the room was amazing beautiful). I had told one of the receptionist at Vip check in that I won't be able to use these as I won't be here to use them. I asked if I could exchanged them for something else. They said that the 2 breakfast is worth about 36 something.. So I can basically just go ahead and get anything that's food and bev (even buffets) so long as it's not retail.. And charge it to my room., then come back to them and they'll adjust it.

    Thanks for the feedback.

So if they cannot take tips, is there much worth requesting as a room upgrade when I check in? I'm not sure I understand the difference between a panoramic room vs. a standard but from the sounds of it this might be the best thing to ask for?

Panoramic.. Better view. Wall to wall view of the strip. They're not supposed to accept tips but I've tipped at wynncore before. Most hotels.. When asked for an upgrade they'll prob give u the same room you booked except with better view. And a better view is considered an upgrade... But of course if there are enough vacant rooms .. They'll bump your upgrade a level higher (level not in reference to floor levels but the value of the room).

This is very helpful, thanks. I will be there a Sunday til Friday and the week itself is the least expensive of all the weeks on the promo so hopefully there will be plenty of availability when I check in.

Anytime. Are you booking through them directly without offers? If so, have you considered booking maybe 3rd party such as Agoda (app you can download via appstore)

These are the apps I use..

Nope, this was an offer through the players card. Could have booked for less $ at Mirage or the like and still would have been very happy, but it was such a great rate for Encore that we decided to treat ourselves. Very excited!

All the room at wynncore are exceptional. Where it's a Salone.. Tower or deluxe.. Everything just looks nice and CLEAN. Plus the customer service you get there surely will leave you smiling at the end of your trip.

Several years ago on my first visit there I tried to give the clerk a $20 tip for any available upgrade, and she said "oh that won't be necessary" and slid it back to me. She put me in a panoramic suite anyway, up from a deluxe. Later on I read the Wynn's policy is to not accept tips at check-in. Probably depends on who you get I suppose.

Right--they try to sell the upgrades at Wynn so the hotel gets the money, not the employees:). They are not cheap, but they will often give you a number of options.

Thanks for all the feedback on this. Getting very excited for the big trip!

One other question for previous Encore guests --I am a light sleeper and have read horror stories of the strip view rooms bc of noise from the clubs until 4am. Does this only apply to the beach club which should be closed when I am there -- or does XS create the same noise issue?

We just came back from here and had a strip view high floor, and did not notice much noise from XS...of course it was also usually pretty late and we were usually otherwise impaired.....
