    My Trip Report

Wynn trip report Feb 12 –14th

Arrived in Vegas @11:30 am and proceed to self park at the Wynn, as some have mentioned before this is one easy parking garage to use got parked on the 2nd level and headed into check-in. This was a 24th Anniversary trip so that is the main reason we went to the Wynn for a little bit of celebration. Check in went very smooth and even got upgraded to a panoramic view on the 53rd floor 5365 to be exact. View was fantastic of TI pirate show and Mirage and the mountains. Dropped our stuff off in the room, which I thought was very nice, Sally did not really care for the beige in the room, as she did not think it really went with anything. Jumped on the bed since we heard so many great things about them, well they were right very comfy. In fact the whole hotel seemed to have a soft feel to it, which was nice not as much sensory overload.
Headed out to get a bite to eat as we were getting a little hungry so we picked Zoozacrackers where we split an overstuffed kosher club which was very good, the corned beef was most excellent. We did not eat to much as we were headed out to SW steakhouse for dinner. Took a cruise through the casino and bought a Ferrari (just kidding). Seems like a very easy casino to navigate which is good because sometimes I have a cocktail or 2. Haa….. Anyway had a drink at Parasol up and then a little gambling before dinner. Won some money and headed up to get ready for dinner. Once in the room flipped on that sweet TV and watched a little of the Pro Bowl in HD. Life is tough, I’m going to have to get HDTV because it was awesome! In the Wynn channels 71 and higher seem to be the HD where the lower are regular channels.
Got dressed up and headed to SW for dinner. Unfortunately our seats did not have the best view of the Water show but the food was fantastic. We split a Classic Caesar for starters and then I ordered the Filet Migon, which came with 3 sauces béarnaise, wine and one other I can’t recall, and the Au Gratin potatoes on the side. Both were cooked to perfection and very tasty. Sally ordered the Lobster Bouillabaisse and I thought I might have to stop her from licking the plate clean in public it was so good, the lobster was cooked perfectly. No room for desert though. I thought the service was a bit slow though. Back to the casino for more gambling and drinking because that’s what you do at least that’s what I like to do : )
    Day 2
Woke up and ordered room service which I was disappointed in service was slow and food was not very hot and for that money I expected more. In December at THEHotel the room service was great for less money. Headed over to Mirage to check out some of the changes. I thought Mirage had been due for some work since the last time there the carpet and stuff was looking a little tired. I thought the place looked pretty good but Sally thought the silver wires with weird silver pieces running though the gardens distracted from the tropical feel. Stack looks good but was closed when we were there. Will have to stay at Mirage again to get a better grasp on the changes. Damn guess I have to start another countdown timer. We cruised TI and Mirage gambling here and there for a while and ended up a little toasted if you know what I mean. Back to the Wynn where Sal tried Red 8 which she was not to impressed with, just a little dim sum that were dry and tough. Anyhow more gambling and carousing until about 3 am when we hit The Terrace café for a bite. Had a Cuban sandwich which was Ok but not has good has the ones I used to get in Florida. , Sal just had some soup as her stomach was a little upset. Anyways a good trip. Won some money but gave it all back before we left .I liked the décor and color in the rooms except for the beige, the lighting in the rooms was nice as they lit up the artwork nicely (but should separate the artwork lighting from the entry lighting with another switch) and the bed was great. Would I stay again only if I got a swinging deal. We paid $129 for THEHotel and $159 for Bellagio before so I’m not sure how Wynn justifies the cost. Service was not above anywhere else we stayed and prices were high $3.50 for a small iced tea with no refills. Well that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Later

Mike, thanks for the great TR! I don't know if you noticed (when the maids were cleaning in the morning and some doors are usually open) but Wynn has all different colors in thier rooms, so I think it's a hit and miss situation re; the colors. We wondered if you stayed there a few times and knew the color combo you liked, if they'd let you request it? Ours had a lot of burnt orange color and we saw one that had some browns and almost like a babmboo wall paper. I don't know if you saw Hunters pics he posted of the Mirage but the ones showing the "new & Improved (??) Kokomo's had all those weird "silver pieces" hanging all over and we thought it looked pretty out of charachter for the Mirage too. Seems like they could have remodeled and stayed w/ the great tropical them. Oh well, I ramble :) Glad you guys had a great trip... Happy Anniversay! ~ Dino

Edit: Just saw your pics under your other post... that was the exact same room decor we had. It was a little bit if an odd color combo but seemed to grow on us after a while...lol Excellent photos...man I miss Vegas:)
