WYNN 12/30/2012-1/2/2013 Players Me (Burt) semi new craps player, for the last three years after losing at slots for the last two decades. Wife (grumpy) slot player that will stay out to the sun comes up with the ATM as the only machine hitting. FLIGHT American Airlines out of Chicago. Rent a car from a local Budget and drive it one way to O’Hare. The parking would have cost more than the rental. Arrive at Budget in about thirty minutes and off to the terminal. We stop at a restaurant in terminal and enjoy an appetizer and a few adult beverages. We are off to the gate. We board and then learn that our seats are not together. We are in first class and grumpy gets well grumpy. Grumpy asks a smug middle aged man in the aisle seat next to her if he would mind switching seats with me. I can read people quite well and knew what the answer was no. I then ask the nice older woman next to me if she would switch seats with grumpy and she does. Thank you. The anticipation begins we are given some warm mixed nuts and a drink prior to take off. I watch the movie, The Trouble With the Curve and have a nice dinner and a few more drinks. The flight attendant was top notch and I gave him a $20 when we arrived in Las Vegas. He said I didn’t need to do that but I told him that the flight was one of the best to Las Vegas due to him. Grumpy agreed. It was right up there with when I was seated to next an NFL player who was actually personable and told me of his losses in Vegas. Arrive in Las Vegas and grab our carry-on bags, grumpy doesn’t like waiting for bags it cuts into her gambling time. HOTEL We cab it to the Wynn and were given the scenic tunnel route. I partially understand due to New Years. Arrive at the Wynn at about !0:00 pm and check in. We wanted a corner room which has windows on two sides, none available. Next time we will let our host know. Head to the room and grumpy is in a hurry to hit the casino. GAMBLING 12/30/2012 We start out on some slot against my better judgment and I am quickly down a few hundred and I head over to the craps table. I buy in for $500 and quickly, well over the course of about three hours am close to $1000 (yellow chip). I play the table minimum $15 and double odds with a come bet on every roll which, I back up with double odds if I don’t lose it. The table is full and some young ladies show up and buy in for $40,000 and bet the 6 and 8. They really don’t know what they are doing, however their rails start to fill up with yellow chips. They hassle the crew on some pay outs and were clearly wrong. I made some bets for the crew and they were very appreciative. The Wynn has some of the best craps dealers on the strip. The night rolls on and I begin to head towards my original $500 (purple chip). The young ladies leave with about $60,000 and tip the dealers $15. They shouldn’t have, I am kidding that is shameful. I could see the dealers expressions and we had a good laugh. The table goes cold and I leave with $300. I find grumpy and we head over to the Palazzo. I find a craps table and buy in for $300. Grumpy continues the slot losses, although she is only down about $300. I use the strategy used by the young ladies $30 on the 6 and 8 and get up to about $800 and grumpy is ready to go back to the Wynn. I give grumpy $300 and we are both about even and head back to the Wynn. I play some slots with grumpy and the sun is coming up and I tell grumpy I need to sleep. She insits we play a little more. It is now noon and I tell her we need to eat and sleep. Man cannot live on beer alone. We go to ZooZoo Crackers grab a burger and head to the room. Neither of us could sleep. I manage to grab about three hours and head back down. What a role reversal Grumpy continues to sleep. I will continue later.
