I received an offer from Wynn the other day that seems pretty good (for me). But I really can’t figure out how good. (I’m trying to figure out if it is good enough to move a tentative trip up a few weeks to take advantage of the offer.)

In addition to the room and food/beverage credit, the offer also comes with 300 “Shopping Credits”. Evidently these credits are used to buy stuff during the last few days of the event. So now, I’m trying to figure out how “valuable” 300 shopping credits actually are.

In order to figure out how valuable the credits are, I need to know:

What kind of buying power does 300 Shopping Credits have?
(Based on the fact that one can earn more credits during the event at a rate of 7500 slot points = 100 shopping credits, the value of each shopping credit should be the same as 75¢ worth of free play…but I really don’t know how that will actually translate to “buying” stuff.)

What kinds of things can I buy with said shopping credits?
(The only clue I have as to what is available to “purchase” is a single line in the offer: “We have all kinds of exciting items, such as the latest electronics!”)

Has anyone been to this event or something similar at Wynn? Can you shed any light on either of these questions for me?

I’m really clueless when it comes to these types of “shopping” offers. None have ever really piqued my interest. But since the room and food/beverage credits were already a bit more than I’m used to getting upfront, I thought this offer might actually be worth a schedule change. So I would appreciate any information I can get. (Also, my host is on vacation and I’m impatient.:rolleyes2:)

    Many thanks!

I'm going to answer your question without really answering it......sorry about that.

We've received those before but always passed on them, primarily cuz I just don't need any more "stuff" in my life. I have a closet full of "interesting" slot gifts.....I actually gave my slot gift from the recent Aria tournament (it was a fancy crystal picture frame) to Bresnan's friend as I definitely don't need any more picture frames.

I checked on these once before and it's usually high end stuff like pens, watches, electronics, etc. Wynn counts these as an additional comp against your regular comps.

I can tell you that the slot tourney gifts you receive at Wynn are far better than those you get from the MGM hotels. I'm still using my Wynn luggage set and we got a really nice camera at a buy-in tournament earlier this year.

In the end, it comes down to whether you need some more "stuff" or not! LOL

Didja get an offer to the free play frenzy tournament in mid-October? If so, I'll see you there.

    Thanks, luvstp!

You may not have answered my question directly, but you did plenty to help me make up my mind. I definitely don’t need more “stuff”! Hell, I don’t even want most of the stuff I have. Why this offer piqued my interest so much, I really don’t know. I think I was probably just excited to get more upfront F/B than usual…plus free stuff!

I did get the free play frenzy offer as well. That one I really wanted to do. Unfortunately, the dates just don’t work for me.

Good luck to you though…you could really do some damage at the STP machines with your share of a quarter million of free play!

We won $5000 in free credit at the lucky 8 drawing (hit 6 of the 8 numbers that were drawn) once and I had some major fun at the STP machines that trip!

If you need some STP porn, go check out "roveer"s posts on the videopoker.com/forum web site. He plays primarily 10 play $ in Atlantic City and has some awesome hits out there. I only have one hit in the 5 figure mark, but I'll be shooting for some more in a few weeks. :licklips:

Oh I hate you! I had sooo many freaking tickets for the Lucky 8 drawing (on account of my degeneracy and all) and couldn’t win a thing. Of course the lady next to me with like three tickets hit the second prize for the day ($1000 in fp I think?).:grrr:

If it makes you feel any better, she didn't really get $1000.....she got her share of the $1000 which is typically $100. I've never seen the drawing where at least 10 people didn't share in that $1000.

The time that I won the $5000, the total was actually $10K, but one other person also had 6 tickets, so we shared the $10K.

When we were at Wynn at the end of July for 4 nights, I had 40-50 tickets each time and never even hit 5 numbers........ I always wondered if anyone hit the 8/8 for the Yacht........
