Anyone gone before ? I'll be in town for the back half and was considering to play in a couple tournaments. Can't really find that much info on past runners or anything like that. Thanks if anyone has any insights.

I played in the main event of the WSOPC at CP in February 2013, and will be playing the main event again this year. I also watched a lot of the play and other tournaments before/during/after the main event.

    A few things to note:
    • First off, if you hadn't heard, the Poker Room in Caesars is going to close down shortly after this WSOPC stop ends - so this is probably your last shot of playing in there. (The nightclub next door is expanding into the space where the poker room is now.)
    • Many pros, local and worldwide, playing in the larger money events. Not as many as the WSOP in July, however.
    • Lots of soft tourists in all events - even the main surprisingly.
    • CP has a very nice tournament room, in the back of their main poker room. Very spacious and comfortable - one of my favorite places to play big tournaments.
    • If you play the main event or are around for it, look me up, we'll grab a drink or something.

The room is getting smaller by just becoming the back tournament area or moving to a more visible part of the casino. They are not getting rid of poker on the property.

My contact @ CP did confirm it would be moving into the open-air casino. This will essentially kill any poker vibe left there. 1) smoke, 2) noise, 3) it will only be like 6-8 tables, 4) he/she mentioned it would probably be right outside the current poker room, essentially taking a part of real estate the sports book typically takes.

Thanks for the info. I got another question for you if you got the time. I notice there is 2 start days for the tournament and that was making me nervous about it. I already have shows for March 1st so sadly I think I am just going to play in #11 the 365 March 11th game. But lets go back to the big one.. Since it starts at noon what time if I am still alive of course does it stop it the evening?

Thanks for taking the time for this most likely silly questions.

If that room defines "poker vibe" I for one am glad it's one of a kind in Vegas. All poker rooms need a rail, it is less intimidating to new players which is what players of all skill should want. It is a very nice room when people are seeking poker out. When poker needs to lure players in like the current Vegas market it doesn't work.

Yes there are two day 1 - day 1a and day 1b. You can start in one or the other, or start 1a and if you get knocked out, re buy into 1b, if you want. Day 2 combines everyone left after both day 1's.

We played a fixed number of levels on day 1. With the dinner break and short breaks between levels, I think we played til about midnight the first day. Day 2 actually went later than that, as they keep playing until there's a winner. It seems to me day 2 went til almost 3 or 4am last year.
