    Lots of firings today.

I hated to see Lovie go. I liked him the same way I liked Dennis Green when he was in Minn. Neither coach did well against the Packers.

Well, it is the end of the season... thats about the time for all sports when coaches start getting the axe.

Lovie's likely to land another head-coaching gig, just like Andy Reid will... many if the others will likely land Offensive Coordinator (Norv Turner) and Defensive Coordinator (Romeo Crinell). When "stuff" doesn't work, changes have to be made... but what's ridiculous is a team like mine (Raiders) who change coaches every year or two... CRAZY... looks like our coach will survive this year... who knows about next?

Update: Raiders kept the coach, but fired the offensive staff!

I'm starting to think by the end of the day the list of coaches that held onto their job is going to be shorter.

Amen, brother !! He should have never been given the previous extension. He always looked like a lost deer, staring into the headlights.

Too bad we couldn't have traded him for a couple offensive linemen.

Kicking Norv out was way overdue. Happy New Year, Chargers fans!

I was never a Lovie Smith fan. He never showed any fire or passion. His teams
played like that. As long as the McCaskeys own the Bears, the team will never be better than average.

There is one thing that is a bigger guarantee then death and taxes.

the chargers will somehow find the worst candidate on the list to replace turner. most likely someone no one has ever heard of, probably someone who has never coached at all.

I'm sick of Chicago teams ditching coaches over holidays. But that being said, it was time for Lovie to go. He could beat the Packers, though, he just couldn't beat Aaron Rodgers.

Lovie Smith will have no problems getting one of today's other vacancies. I'd be guessing Arizona or Buffalo.

I hope Gruden hooks something too because he's insufferable in the broadcast booth.

Sounds like Gruden wants to stay in the booth. Which is good because I was disturbed by all the draft Gruden posts on Facebook. I do not want him in Chicago.

I am from MN and the Vikes are my NFC team (Pats overall are, though) but you Bears fans can have Singletary.

Thanks, but no thanks! Why didn't anyone pick up on the fact that they never gave him a chance to come home?

Did Tice get canned too? I think there were 2 or 3 seasons the Vikes started 6-0 under him and didn't make the playoffs.

He is too friendly and nice to the players. He was always joking around with them here, slapping their asses and high fiving. As a head coach if you want to be successful you gotta get tough with the players, not try to be their best buddies.

Tice wasn't fired - yet. Fully expecting all the other coaches to leave.
