    My Trip Report

Ok, so a little background: I grew up in Southwest Wisconsin, about 30 mins from Ho Chunk. I lived in Milwaukee from 2006-2011. Used to play at Potawatomi a few times a month and played there a few times while home for Brewers games during the summer. Have been to vegas 10-15 times over the last 8 years. Love double deck pitch. In the dells for Wife's work, treated as a gambling trip for me.

Thurs Oct 18: I received $120 in match play from poto and wife received $10. Talk wife in to going to pogo on way from Midway Airport to the Dells for the weekend.

Arrive at Poto around 9:15, head to players club for match plays and birthday points. i like to play in Solstice lounge, even though I am a red card still since they have pitch, head to VIP desk to ask for permission. They said I could head up there at 10.

Considering we were still about 2.5 hours from our final destination, there was no way we were going to wait 30 mins to play. So we ended up finding a face up double deck game on the floor for $25. We stand behind the table and watch as a single looses his ass playing a reverse progressive. Busts out $400 in 3/4 shuffle.

Dealer pulls shuffle card and lets us get in, I play 2 hands at $50 and the wife plays one at $25 on my money. Bought in for $600 total. First shoe is a big push for me and up a little win for my wife. I play a 1X positive progressive, wife plays about a 1/2X progressive. Next shuffle, we both kill it. I end up $600 up and wife ends up about $150 up. We both color up and walk away, of that only about $50 was made on the match play. We are on our way to the Dells, Kalahari Resort. Up $750 for the trip between us. $600 for me. 15 min play up $600.

Friday Oct 19: Wife wakes up around 8 and is out of the room around 8:30 on the way to work. I am wide awake by this point and head to Ho Chunk around 9 am. Take a walk around the pits and HL room, notice nothing is open and spot a pit supervisor, she tells me the pits don't open until 10 am. Decide I am not going to wait and call my buddy who is working in Madison. End up meeting my buddy in Madison for lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, don't have those in Rhode Island.

Head back from Madison around 2 and my wife wants me to grab her dinner around 5. Head back to Ho Chunk for hopefully some good Double deck.

Find a nice table with a friendly dealer, had a $1600 budget for the weekend. 5-6 shuffles later I am Starring down at my last $400 of my $1200 buy in. Pit boss comes over and says last shuffle and then we are changing cards. Ask pit boss to get another table near by shuffling for me.

Take my Last $400 for the day and head to the new table. Playing 2X$50 at a $10 table. Sit down at new table with a check of $200 of my $400. Proceed to get up to $1500 in about 2 shuffles playing my 1X. Problem is I got scared as I got close to even, left at least $800 on the table not playing my game, Oh well at least I am still up. Leave at 3:30. Played 2 hours and up $900 for trip, plus a couple beers.

Head to restaurant for wife at 4 pm, not open till 4:30, crap, decide to head to bar nearby for a snack and beer. Have my beer and chips before heading back to wife's restaurant for her meal. $50 and 2 more beers later I am on my way back to the hotel to meet her. Hand off the meal to the wife and am headed back to the lobby around 6 pm for the shuttle back to Ho Chunk. Drink a beer waiting for shuttle and am headed back for The tables.

Arrive at same table as the first one from the afternoon session, can't play my preferred 3 rd base positions so set up shop around second base. Start off playing 2X$25 at $10 table. Win some loose some, mostly up. Drinking beer, sitting next to very nice older gentleman. I am also the highest bidder at the table by 3X. offer to by older gentleman beer next to me, he accepts and we have a beer together.

My wife asked me to text her around 8:30, 9:00 and 9:30. So I set an alarm on my At&T Iphone. If you have ever been to HoChunk you know text do not work inside on At&T. After walking halfway into parking lot to get a text out, offer the lady watching next to us a drink for a text to my wife. She agrees and sends one out. I end up buying a drink for the whole table, waitress says something like $16.50, I hand her a green chip and say all is good.

A few beers later I go up and down. Following texts to wife I go from down $400 to up $600 to loosing $850 in three hands, damn double downs, to back up $1800.

By the time the wife shows up around 11 pm I am back to about even. Was playing 2X$100 by the time she showed up, whoops. She shows up wanting to leave. However I want to keep playing, hand her the $2k of chips in my pocket and keep buying in with the remaining cash. Convinced her to stick around until I ended up $1000 for the session. 3 hours play, Up $1000 for the session, $1300 for the day and $1900 for the trip, have $1500 in chips in my pocket. $2000 in cash. Not bad for a small indian casino. Head back to room lead by Wife, drunk.

Sat Oct 20: again wife wakes up early for wife. I have to meet my grandma, brother and sister in law for lunch at 11:30. Meet them at Damon's for lunch. Show Grandma one of my blue/purple chips and she rubs it all over for good luck. And we are off to the outlet mall. Hang out there until 2 pm or so. grandma decides she wants to go to Ho Chunk for a bit. Head back to the hotel and they drop me off to drive separate.

Head back to casino and find the same table, sit down and by in with a purple chip from before. Ply 1.5 shuffles, up $600, end up giving back $200 in last half of shuffle. Color up up $400. Walking by Baccarat table, decide it is time to learn, bad idea, loos $100 in <15 min. Played 40 min and up $300 for the day, $2200 for trip.

Head off to find grandma and hang out with her. Find her at penny slot playing almost minimums. Watch her for a while and see her get a 100 spin bonus playing $0.01 on one line, needless to say she won $0.59 on her 100 spins, but she was having fun. She lost $4 in over an hour of play. Not too shabby.

My grandma ended up lending me $1 to ply along with her. I played through that and then remembered I had $5 in free play for my birthday month. Plugged in my card but couldn't get it to work. Asked slot attendant and he said I had to put money in before it worked, I didn't have any single, only $100's. Not putting $100 in a penny slot. Go and ask my brother for a $1, ends up giving me $6. take the money and my free play, cash out with $5.99. Give my grandma her $1 back and give my bro his $4.99, since I payed for lunch, told him it only cost him $0.01. Played 30 min and up $300 for day and $2200 for trip.

Head back to hotel to pick up wife to head to god daughters baptism. Leave around 4:30. Have baptism and hang with friends until 7:45. Wife has to be back in the dells by 9 so we head back.

Drop her off for the speech and walk to the front desk to grab the shuttle back to Ho Chunk. Takes<30 min for shuttle to get there. find the same table I like and sit down. Again biggest better at table. by in for one purple and start playing 2X$50 at 1X progressive. Win $1050 in 2 shuffles and get up. Head to cage for cash. Ask for some small bills. Tip cashier $3 for good service.
30 min up $1000 for session, $1300 for day and $3200 for trip. <10 hours of play and up $3200.

Since I didn't have time at table for a beer, I head to bar and grab 2 16 oz. cans. Head back our to shuttle. Security guard promptly tells me beer is not allowed outside, :( Someone on the shuttle had a roady there, thought is was ok on shuttle. So like any good gambler, head back to a table to drink me beer.

Find a $10 shoe and sit down playing 2 X $20. Play a few hands and get up to $60 in red, man is that a tall stack.... Cash out up $25.

Head back to Cashier with my $125. Have same cashier and give her $5 this time. Ended up getting paid $1000+ for my two beer.

Head Back to Damon's at Kalahari for some beer and chips and salsa, buy some drinks for rest of the bar. Wait for wife to call me back to bed.

Drove back to Madison and Midway for our return flight.

Not too bad, $3200 in 3 day/nights of small play, < 10 hours of play.

Off to Green Bay in a couple weeks. Oh and I won $34 on Keno tonight, keep the streak alive.

Thanks for the responses. I am surprised at how may Wisconsinites there are on this board. I live on the east coast now.

Headed back to WI this thursday for a wedding, hoping to hit up Oneida in Green Bay. Anyone know the Double deck status there?

Headed to Vegas Dec. 22. Hope to have a better TR for that trip.

I never had any luck at Potowami, not much luck at Oneida, but we always do good at Keshena-menominee.

    Blow Chunk

I was at Ho Check on the 17th. My plan was to play BJ.
I was there too early also and started playing video poker with their crappy pay tables.
I got on this new 3 play game with a wheel on top that exposed a payout every time at least 3 of a kind are dealt to you. I filled up the wheel and it began to spin.
Landed on 10900 quarters. That was a good hit. Then I went into the high limit room and played bonus dollar 3 play. After about $200 into the game I was dealt a 10 to the ace straight. I noticed one straight had 4 clubs, so I threw the jack of hearts away and hit a
$4000 club royal. Second one at Ho Chunk, first one was for $1000.
I put about $700 back into the machines before I came to my senses. I then played BJ and won $70 in about 15 minutes. I also had my name called to spin a prize wheel and I won a 2 night stay there.
OK then the Mrs and I went back and blew $1700 the next weekend.
    Still up $3800 though.

Round 2 of Wisconsin Trip Report

Some of our good friends were getting married in Green Bay on Saturday.

The wife was in the wedding and just so happened to have business in Texas all week. Because of this I was flying solo to Green Bay Thursday night. There just happens to be a casino in Green Bay with a Hotel attached, who knew.

Looked online and noticed if I booked my room 14 days in advance it was only $80 plus tax. So about 16 days out, I booked my room. This was a mistake.

I leave work at 3:00 and realize I forgot to grab dog food the night before. So have to make a quick trip to Wal-mart to grab some food. Puts me behind about 30 mins but still doing ok for my 6:00 flight.

Run home and finish packing and grab the dogs. High tail it over to the dog sitters to drop them off. Look at the clock and looks like I should still have some time for a couple beers at the airport.

Get to Delta counter and realize why I like Southwest, no bag fees. There's $50 gone for the trip. Too bad I couldn't just gate check it, but it was too big since I had the wife's stuff too.

Get all checked in and to security. Two guys in front of me are taking their time getting jackets, sweatshirts, and whatever else off. Meanwhile my belt is off, pockets empty. All I need is one tub for my computer.

Security guard waves me around and say something about how I can't believe how slow some people are. I am through the scanner and on my way to the bar before the other people even have their stuff off.

Two beers later and a sad story about someones friend who was just diagnosed with cancer, I am on my way to the gate.

Took off 10 Min early but we ended up landing 40 Min early. Apparently Delta pads their times a little bit.

Get to Detroit and grab a Guinness and some Mac and Cheese at the Irish Pub. Was good but had to add some hot sauce for a kick. Call hotel to verify late check in. They say no problem and also inform me I have been upgraded to a Jacuzzi Suite. Awesome, just what I need traveling all by myself.

Off to Green Bay after the hour wait.

Land in Green Bay 30 min ahead of schedule, around 10:30 pm. Call hotel again and ask for shuttle. They ask if I have my luggage yet, after saying no, I ask them just to wait 10 min and then come.

After grabbing my bag I walk out and the shuttle pulls up, talk about perfect timing. 5 min later we are at the hotel, it is literally across the street. Check in, no need for the $20 trick, already have a suite. I did get change for $100 and gave $5 to the shuttle driver and front desk lady.

Walk up to room and literally drop bag and head right back out the door, there is beer to drink and blackjack to be played. Walk around the casino and find a double deck table on the floor. $15 table but is full. Ask pit boss if there is another pit. She points me to High limit, sweet I wanted to play $25 tables anyway.

Sit down around 11:00 and first beer in hand around 11:05. Buy in for $480, had some left over from the tip change. My favorite third base was taken, so sit down in the middle.

Couple shoes later and the guys at 3rd leave, so I get my favorite spot.

Sit down and start playing 2 X $50 hands. Very choppy, up down but mostly down. Changed to 2 X $100 hands around 12:30 and end up all in for around $1500. Down to my last $300 around 1:00 am, $200 on the table and $100 on the felt and I was tapped out.

Like always the blackjack gods knew this and gave me 2 double downs. I ended up borrowing $100 from first base as I threatened to go to the ATM and make the table wait. Ended up wining one and Pushing the loaned one.

This is where it got fun and Hazy at the same time. I mostly just remember a lot of $300 and $400 double down wins. Playing a 1X progressive on a $100 hand doesn't take long to get there, but I was finally winning.

After a couple more hours and a card change, I looked down at my watch and counted my chips. it was 3 am and I had 14 purples, holy crap I have $7000. Not bad for a $1500 Buy in. I cash out and head to bed. Lady in the cage looked at me a little strange, but was shortly counting out 70 $100 bills. This was/is my biggest single session win ever, 4 hours and $5500.

    More to come.
