This is driving me nuts. On my old machine I was also running Win7 Pro. Same on new desktop puter. When I had multiple emails open for example, I could just click on the one I wanted in the task bar to reopen it. Now, every time I pass the mouse over anything in the taskbar, it does a popup window that first is too small to even read and second is very annoying to me.

I have gone through all the properties options in taskbar, combine, don't combine etc and can't figure out how to stop this annoying popup window. If I have 3 emails open, I don't need 3 popup boxes that I can't read, to see what is there. They are already named in the task bar!

    Any help appreciated!

Hey you kids, get off my lawn! :evillaugh

Try this: I tried it and it didn't work. Maybe I need to restart Windows.

    1. Click “Start” and type “gpedit.msc” and hit Enter
    2. Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, and Start Menu and Taskbar in left pan of Group Policy Editor.
    3. Locate “Turn off Taskbar Thumbnails” in right pan of Group policy editor and double click.
    4. Select “Enabled” and click “Apply” and “OK”.

Tried it and rebooted, but same thing. Found this using Google and it did the trick.

Darn Joe, you're sure having your share of 'puter-related issues! :) Glad you got it fixed. Just for giggles, what make computer did you get? Manufacturers sometimes set "normal" defaults to their own preferences.

Good deal from Costco on a Dell xps8700. Intel i7 at 3.60 ghz. 8g of ram.
You just tend to forget all the little tweaks you have done on the old one after 5 years and have to go through the duplication process, to get everything back to the way I want it. BTW, I lost BJ Sim in the process.

Damn it, it worked until I restarted the computer, and now the popups are back on the task bar.
