Will you be in town over the holidays it used to be I didn't miss one. Since airfare isn't what it used to be not as much. Finally it was over the Christmas holidays but haven't been there in about 5 years. I do enjoy being there in the spring to enjoy the pool and nicer weather.

I've been able to find the best deals by planning way ahead. Booked our Thanksgiving trip in mid-August.

We will be there for four nights from November 25 through November 29. Paid $83 per person including a seat assignment for the outbound flight from Denver on November 25 via Frontier Airlines. Paid $123 per person for the return flight to Denver on November 29 via Southwest. Paid an extra $12.50 per person for early bird check in for the return flight.

Booked Treasure Island for $54 for November 25 (taxes and resort fees are extra). Booked the Venetian for $110 per night, including taxes, via Hotwire for November 26, 27, and 28 (resort fee is extra).

Have just booked 6 nights for Spring Break at the end of March/beginning of April...$200 per person round trip on Southwest. $158 per night average for 1050 square foot condo/suite at the Platinum.

Yes, we will be there Christmas Day- NYE day, leaving town at check out time before it gets crazy. 2 days Plaza (Thanks Curt), 1 day Monte Carlo (myVegas), and 3 days at Suncoast. They matched our comp from Orleans....

Not this year! But it's def my favorite time of the year to go.
I've done the Las Vegas NYE thing 3 times now. Always fun!
I'd rather be in Vegas than deal with family during holidays.

yep, this year we'll be there for christmas but leaving before new year's. i did this last time i went to vegas too (back in 2012). our flights are ridiculously expensive at this time of year, but we used points for both of our tickets. i think they were roughly $450-$500 each before points. i was there for christmas and new year's in 1999, but i tend to stay away during NYE because of the expense and the crowds. this year we booked bally's for 5 nights for $210, and will be staying with family for another 5 nights. that way we avoid the higher cost of staying in a hotel on christmas eve and christmas. i like christmas in vegas for a couple of reasons. one is i get to visit my family instead of my husband's family for christmas; the weather is way better than i see in nj; and the crowds aren't bad before christmas.

Yes....we are doing NYE week this year instead of our usual August trip. It will be a 1st for us.... we have 11 in our group....all doing the NYE thingy for the 1st time. Staying at Flamingo - also for the 1st time. Thought the location might work better since the casinos & Linq are close together since it will be colder weather than we are used to in LV.

we did new year's eve for the first time two years ago and had a blast. and we're 65+ LOL.

have booked a stay over christmas this year (Dec. 22-26) since our son and his family will be out of the country.

am curious whether christmas eve will be slow. we are staying at sam's town. about six years ago we drove from southern california on christmas day afternoon and were surprised by the crowds. seemed like all the locals had enjoyed christmas morning at home; then headed out in the late afternoon/evening.

For the last four years, we've gone to Vegas for three or four nights prior to Christmas. It's been great for us - it's not too busy, some great promos, favorable hotel rates, etc. Always enjoy a winter trip to Vegas. We'll be over on the 21st of next month.

I just booked Dec. 29 thru Jan. 2 at Ballys. It'll be our first New Years Eve in Las Vegas, although we have been going to Vegas for the past 20 years or so.

IF i treat her right I might get away with going 1st week of the new year again, fingers x'd :rolleyes2:

We are going for NYE for the first time. Not sure what to expect. Taking my mom (71) and her boyfriend as well. We are staying at MGM and hoping we are not missing out by being at the southern end. Mom can get claustrophobic so I am hoping to find a party for us to go to instead of fight the crowds on the streets.

I booked really early so I got a good rate at MGM. The flights are more than we are used to but I had points to help out.

Any suggestions for a not too crowed party to attend?

My wife and I will be in Vegas Dec. 27th-Jan 2nd. We'll be first timers for New Year's Eve, and we're certainly looking forward to it. We have 6 nights comped at Bally's, with 2 nights comped in the middle at the Mirage. We have a lot of things booked already. We have a 2 for 1 Entree deal from myVegas to use at Double Barrel, as well as a 2 for 1 buffet at the Mirage. Still looking for a 3rd deal to grab from myVegas though as there really hasn't been anything outstanding. Also have dinner booked at McCormick & Schmick's, as we have a Groupon to use. We have reservations for the Mandarin Bar on the 30th, and then for the big night, we have a table on the patio at Mon Ami Gabi booked from 9:30pm to closing. Can't wait to see what the strip is like before, during and after the fireworks display.
