    My Trip Report

***This trip report is super old, but in the process of getting ready for my upcoming trip in January, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about my last trip (last January). I spent a ton of time last year with my “Pre TR” and then totally failed on the actual TR itself. Not sure if anyone cares or wants to read an old TR, but I figured I need to appease the Vegas gods and follow through on my prior commitment. The last thing I need to is to start my next trip off with some bad JuJu***

    So here you go:

    Preface

My entire workup to the trip can be found here: http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?114933-NFL-Wild-Card-Weekend-Jan-2nd-5th-the-LINQ

To summarize, three of my best friends from high school and I were headed to Vegas for NFL Wild Card weekend. The trip was a Christmas gift from all of our wives, as we hadn’t done anything as just “the guys” in over five years. For privacy’s sake, I’ve nicknamed my three friends Rafi (The League reference, crazy motherfucker), Teddy KGB (degenerate gambler with a slight anger problem), and the Pauper (poor bastard and the biggest mooch I’ve ever met, but also my best friend).

Raffi and the Pauper live in Washington State (where we all grew up), Teddy lives in Reno, and I live in Los Angeles. All of us were set to fly in on Friday, and fly out Monday morning. We booked two double rooms at the Linq, one of which was comped for me.

Please ignore the changes in tense. Having a hard time identifying how I’m going to write this.

    Friday, January 2nd (Day 1)

Flight was scheduled out of Burbank at 7:30. Got to the airport at 6:15, which is a little early for me. Oh well, time for a drink. I check my bags no problem, and get through security in like five minutes. Burbank is the best. I was a little worried about the booze in my checked baggage, Southwest states that glass bottles should be properly packed in one of those inflatable protective cases, but I wasn’t about to pay $5 per bottle, and I don’t think they make them for 1.75 liter bottles anyway. Oh well, fingers crossed nothing bad happens.

I make it to my gate and the first thing I see is the damn marquee flashing “DELAYED” Fuck. Whatever, it can’t be that long and I was set to get in early as it was. I spoke with the SWA rep who said the plane was going to be delayed at least 45 mins. So I head to the bar and pay an outrageous $32 for a Long Island Ice Tea. Looking back, I think the server just charged me the bar rate for each shot, instead of a set price for a drink. That’s what I get for being a bitch and ordering something fancy. Should have stuck with Jameson. Life goes on. I tell myself that I wouldn’t blink at losing a $25 hand of BJ, so why sweat a single expensive drink.

So I finish my liquid gold cocktail and decide to head back to my gate to see if there was an updated ETA for my flight. As I arrived I noticed all the seats were empty. WTF? Where is everyone? I run up to the gate agent and he ask him when the plane is leaving and he tells me right now. So much for my A49 boarding pass. I run up the jet way and find a middle seat near the front. Not ideal, but who cares, I’m going to Vegas.

Plane ride was short and sweet. Beats the hell out of driving. Don’t get me wrong, the drive there is great. 4 hours of anticipation, where every milestone is a step closer to the motherland. But that drive back is shit. It always seems to take longer and keeping my eyes open is almost impossible. I’ll pay $150 for the roundtrip airline ticket anyday.

Arrived at McCarran at 9:00. Originally I was going to grab a cab myself, but that was when my flight was arriving at 8:30. By the time I get my bag (all bottles intact) its 9:15 and Raffi’s flight gets in at 9:50. Fuck it, I’ll wait.

I’m one of those guys who only smokes in Vegas (a deal that works with my wife, and my conscience), so I walk outside and chain smoke three Parliments. Vegas baby! As I’m standing their enjoying the sweet taste of carcinogens and tar, I get a call from the wifey who is in tears because some asshole at work asked if she is pregnant (she was) and made some rude comment about her weight. Great. Twenty minutes later she is done crying and Rafi is walking towards me. Gotta go babe.

Rafi approaches with his big ass, shit-eating-grin, and says “Vegas!” We smoke a cigarette and grab a cab. $20 for a quick trip, no tunnel. Tipped $5 and into the Linq we go. Its early, and there is no one at check in, so I decide to give the $20 trick a try. Lets just say the transition between me and the hostess went horribly wrong and somehow the bill fell onto the counter. She pretended like she didn’t see it, so I pulled it back awkwardly while Rafi just laughed. FML. I’m just not the kind of guy who is good at being discrete. Whatever.

Despite no upgrade, there were two adjoining rooms available immediately. Win. We head upstairs and unpack my checked bags. We both throw on our Seahawks jerseys, and I throw on my lucky cowboy boots for good measure (when I say lucky, I mean that they are regular cowboy boots, which are inherently lucky as compared to sneakers, right?). The drinking begins. We have three handles (1.75 liter bottles for those of you unfamiliar with the term): vodka, tequila, and Jameson, Kirkland signature margarita mix (the stuff with booze already in it), two bottles of champagne, and pedialite. Due to the lack of mixers, we throw down some Jameson and decide we should grab some mixers and drunk snacks before Teddy and the Pauper get in. We hoof it over to that shitty little convenient store behind the Cromwell (I always forget the name) and grab orange juice, pineapple juice, beer, and some other crap. Despite the fact that its like 50 degrees outside, I’m sweating by the time we make it back to the room. By this time its like 11:30, and the Pauper should be getting in soon. Bottom ups. I poor myself a strong, party cup sized margarita. While we drink, Rafi starts setting up our own little in LAN.

LAN? What the fuck is a LAN? Well for those of you who are not computer savy, “LAN” stands for Local Area Network. What do we need a LAN for? Computer games. That’s right, we arranged to stay in our room and play shit on our computers. Let me start off by saying that this was not my idea. I was never that guy, but growing up, the other three were all about that crap. So for nostalgias sake, the three of them insisted we spend some time playing Rise of Nations at some point during the trip. Whatever, to each his own, right? They aren’t big football fans, but have agreed to watch all the playoff games with me, I guess I can appease their need to be nerds.

So Rafi gets things set up, and this is where my last TR goes to shit: Rafi used all the WIFI logins for his computer crap. Apparently the Linq only gives you two per room, which means I cannot connect my phone to the wifi at the hotel. So without wifi, and no good cell signal inside, my access to Tapatalk is extremely limited. I try to log on a couple of times and immediately say “fuck it,” I’ll recap it all when I get home (we all know how that turns out).

So we are sitting in the room, getting fairly drunk, when we get a phone call from the Pauper. I can’t really hear what he’s saying because the background noise is super loud, but I caught something about his shuttle crashing into a street sign, and now he is hoofing it with his luggage down the strip. Nice. He says hes walking through the Flamingo, so we head down to meet him. We find him hauling his shit through the back where the Flamingo exits to the Linq’s promenade thing. We take him up to the room, and he gets his shit situated and throws on his Seahawks jersey (which is an obvious fake that he found on ebay or something).

Sidenote (this will be important later): me and Rafi are in one room, and Pauper and Teddy are in the other. This was decided as Teddy and Pauper snore horribly.
Anyway, its past noon now and Raffi and I are pretty toasted. We grab a drink for the road and head up to Planet Hollywood because Pauper insists that he needs some Earl of Sandwich. Is it just me, or am I the only one who doesn’t get the hype? Yes they have good sandwiches, but its just a fuckin sandwich. Whatever, Raffi and Pauper have been craving one since Raffi’s bachelor party two years prior and who am I to judge them for their cravings.

By the time we make it to Planet Hollywood, the alcohol is in full effect. The line for Earl of Sandwich is ridiculously long (like it always is) and I’m more interested in gambling then eating. Thankfully, Pauper insists I eat something and I give in. Had I not listened, things would have gone bad quickly as I was rapidly approaching sloppy-drunk status.

I eat my sandwich and we head back to the Linq. The food and walk back bring me some clarity and take the edge off the booze. I feel good, but I also feel back in control. I make a quick note to remember that its only 1 PM on day one, and I should try and pace myself a little. Once we get back to the Linq I hit the point where I can no longer deny the pull of the craps table. I tell the boys I am going to gamble and they agree to watch.

I hate that shit. There is nothing worse then throwing away money while someone else looks on and silently judges you (atleast thats what I imagine their doing as I throw down my carny bets). Don’t get me wrong, I love these guys, but they are mood kills when it comes to gambling. Luckily Teddy will be there soon and will help counteract the negativity produced by the two non gamblers.

Rant over. I hit the craps table and drop a quick two hundred. Don’t remember a lot of the session, only remember that there weren’t many people at the table and things felt cold. I leave craps and hit the nearest roulette table, where I promptly drop another $100. It was one of those situations where you don’t really feel the luck, but you force it anyway because you just have to play. So I finish down $300, which is a lot considering my entire BR for the trip is only like $1300 and its only the afternoon on day one.

But I’ve gotten my fix and feel like I’ve gotten some of the bad luck out of the way. Before heading to the room I stop at the sports book and put $100 on UCLA. I don’t remember who they were playing, I just remember I wanted something to watch Friday night and asked a coworker what a good line was. I follow the NFL religiously, but have never really gotten into college.

We go up to the room and play a little RON (Rise of Nations, forgive me for my Vegas sin) while we wait for Teddy to get in. He gets in a round 4:00 and we spend some time catching up in the rooms. Around 6:00 we decide to grab some dinner and I recommend BLT Burger at the Mirage. We head over and are seated immediately. Food was great, really recommend the burgers there. I had the one with caramelized onions and blue cheese. Amazing. Way better than the Gordon Ramsey one at Planet Hollywood.

After dinner Pauper wants to go BACK to the room to refill our drinks. I’m getting tired of the hotel room, and at this point I’m getting the itch again, but I’m a team player so I concede and head back with them. Once in the room Pauper insists on playing more computer games. I decide enough is enough and talk Teddy into hitting the Casino with me. Rafi decides he wants to stay back with Pauper but says they’ll meet us downstairs later. Whatever, I’m done with their silly games. Teddy is here and if there’s anyone who understands the pull, its him.

Teddy isn’t a by-the-book guy. I love him to death but sometimes the things he does at the blackjack table drive me crazy. He’s the kind of guy who will hit 19 against a dealer facecard, win, and then be confused when the rest of the table busts and hates him. He always goes with his gut (which is rather sizeable) and loves roulette, so that’s where we start. We each buy in for $100 in $1 chips and start spreading the money out. I generally play 6 numbers (7,11,13,23,29,30) with a dollar straight up, and a dollar on all four sides. We go back and forth for awhile, I don’t remember anything specific, but we didn’t play long. I hear the dice calling my name and we head over to Harrah’s. I’m not sure why we went there, as I pretty much hate their casino, probably because I’ve never won. I’m down about $300 at this point, and I drop another $200 at craps in Harrahs. Fuck.

Luckily my UCLA bet wins, so we head back to the Linq to cash my ticket. Only down $400 now. Teddy gets sucked back into the roulette table and I end up with him. I drop another $100. I watch Teddy play for a bit and he ends up hitting 29 (one of my numbers) with $10 straight up TWICE IN A ROW and walks away with $700. DOUBLE FUCKK

I’m happy he’s winning, but now I’m looking for my own luck. We head over to the flamingo and find a shitty 6:5 BJ table and cash in. We play here for a couple hours and I drink, what I can only assume, is a fair amount of Newcastles (I hate the beer they serve in Casinos). We leave the Flamingo around 1 AM, and decide its time for food. I mention Hash House A Go Go, seems like Teddy’s kind of place. We walk over and find a table and the minute I sit down I start to get the spins. Shit. I tell Teddy I need to take a walk and find the nearest door immediately.

Fresh air sounds like the cure, so I head outside and start drunk walking the strip. I make it to Casino Royale and turn around, heading back towards the Linq. At this point I’m THAT GUY. You know, the one who is stumbling down the sidewalk with his head down and a slight lean in his gait. I completely forget about Teddy and head back towards the room. I make it upstairs and through the door when I see fuckin Rafi in one bed and Pauper in another. That motherfucker fell asleep in my bed and I’m too drunk, and too tired, to get him up. So what do I do? I lay down on the floor and pass out.

Like an hour later I’m awake on the hard ass Linq carpet and I’m sweating. Cold sweat. Shit. This isn’t good. Before I know whats happening I’m running towards the bathroom. I barely swing the bathroom door open before I violently spew the remains of my carmelized onion, blue chesses burger across the bathroom wall. When I say across, I mean from one end of the bathroom to the other (it’s a small bathroom). In-between heaves I make it to the toilet and sit down. After a couple minutes the heaving stops and I’m able to gain some semblance of control. I survey the damage, its bad. There is vomit on the wall, across the toilet bowl, and all over the floor. In my drunken state I make a fatal error and forget to take pictures. One of my biggest regrets. I do my best to clean up the mess with hand towels and toilet paper, I’m already THAT GUY, and don’t want to be THAT GUY who doesn’t clean up his nasty puke.

I do everything I can to erase any evidence of the carnage and head back to bed. At this point I take the time to push Pauper out of my bed and tell him to get his ass to his own room. Before I knock out I have the presence of mind to set my alarm, playoff games start early.

    **Will post day two tomorrow**

Did you notice if they forgot to save their game and if not did you close it without saving as penalty for their Vegas infraction? There is this place called the internet where they can put on their nerd gear and talk while playing RON. Also nice puke story, freaking Murica!! Yes I am a computer game playing addict, second only to my Vegas addiction. Surprised you didn't stumble your drunk arse into casino royale.... You would have fit right in and also you could have projectile vomited some White Castle, Michelobs, and maybe a foot long dog.

Ahh, Casino Royale will come in on day two. My goal during my drunken stupor was to let the cold air clear my head. And luckily for me, White Castle wasn't open yet.

Here is what I remember from day two. Again, its pretty long. So continue at your own risk. I'm not sure anyone wants to read an old TR, but I'm having fun writing it all down. Disclaimer over.

    Saturday, January 3rd (Day Two)

My alarm goes off at 9am, and considering the events that took place a mere 6 hours previous, I feel ok. When I get out of bed Raffi sits up and gives me this big shit eating grin. I immediately give him shit for passing out before midnight while in Vegas. He sheepishly admits they passed on at 9:30. So much for the nickname.

I tell him about the puke mess and we make our way to the bathroom to survey the damage. Despite my drunken state, the bathroom doesn’t look horrible. I did a pretty good job getting it all cleaned up. You can see still see the black colored vomit stains in between the wall tile, but other than that, it isn’t horrible. We both shower up (not together, get your minds out of the gutter) and head downstairs. I leave a note and a $20 for the maids.

On our way out we knock on Pauper and Teddy’s room to let them know we are heading down. Rafi and I find a good spot at TAG and I go place my bets for the morning game. If I remember correctly, I took the Panthers with the points (ARI was starting a backup QB) and I’m pretty sure they covered. What I remember more than the football game was the constant “CRAPS SHOOOOTER!!!” blaring from the foam dice game near the bar. I remember this so vividly because I remember thinking that this would be a good way to teach the guys how craps works. So during the break between games I walk over and put $100 into the machine.

An hour later I cash out $300, $200 profit. That machine may be annoying, but it saved my trip. Not only that, but Teddy and Raffi both played and came away with a basic understanding of our favorite dice game. I imagine I’m in the minority here, but that game is a blast.
We stick around for the evening game, and I lose my earnings from the early game by taking the Steelers to beat the Ravens. Oh well, no harm no foul. After the games were over we grabbed dinner at that shitty food court with the Chioptle and Panda Express. I really love my friends, but I hate that they refuse to spend money on a decent meal. WTF

After dinner the guys head back to the room for some gaming, I go with them but only because they humored me with football all day. Whatever, more drinking. To put things into perspective, we are only half way through the trip and we’ve polished off the handle of vodka and the whiskey and tequila are half way down. Not bad for four people in a little over 24 hrs.

After an hour of wasted time in the room, Raffi decides he’d like to play some BJ, but wants to find a $5 table. Good luck. I mentioned going downtown but no one wanted to pay for a cab (cheap bastards). I then remembered someone saying that TI had $10 tables (Saturday night, CET tables are at $15), so we headed that way. Treasure Island was DEAD. We look around for a minute and end up sitting down with some wrinkled old hag who’s been dealing blackjack since the invention of playing cards. She’s got that three pack-a-day croak and an east coast accent. I don’t remember exactly what she did that pissed me off, but it had something to do with mocking us for gambling in the first place. She was one of those people who doesn’t pretend to like the guests. We didn’t stay long.

We hit up Casino Royale and try to get in on the $1 craps game but the table is packed and I don’t feel like waiting. Eventually we make it back to the Linq, and for the first time noticed the music coming from O’Sheas. Raffi’s ears perked up like a little dog. I grab a round of drinks for everyone in an attempt to get the party started and we walk into Oshea’s. Immediately we are at home. The boys find a ten dollar BJ table and I hit the craps table. I get killed. I don’t know what my problem is. Maybe I need more of a set strategy, something to turn the tide. I suck up my $200 loss and meet the guys at one of the blackjack tables and finally find some luck. We ended up playing for at least a couple of hours and I make my $200 back. The money aside, I just love O’Sheas. The music, the dealers, everything is great. My only problem is the drink service takes a little longer then I like, but I can live with that. We end up leaving around 2:00am and head over to Casino Royal for some delicious drunk food. I get the chili cheese dog and it hits the spot.

Everyone is fairly drunk at this point, and we decide to call it a night. I’m tempted to gamble more but decide against it in order to maintain the BR for the final day. I brought around $1300, and at this point I’ve only got $500 left. Got to make it last. Hopefully tomorrow brings better luck.

    Sunday, January 4th (Day Three)

My alarm goes off at nine and I immediately hit snooze. Despite being south of 30, my body just can’t handle the amount of alcohol I’ve put through it. On top of the dehydration, I sleep like shit when I’m drunk, so the exhaustion is catching up with me. My alarm goes off nine minutes later, and I force myself to sit up.

    Vegas.

The games start at 10:00, so I shower up and head downstairs. Rafi doesn’t move, so I check his pulse to ensure he’s still alive and leave the room without him. They know where to find me.

I head downstairs and grab the same seat as the day before at TAG. I know I should eat something, but the idea of food is nauseating. Nothing sounds good. I put some money on the Colts, order an OJ/Vodka, and light a cigarette. Its my last day in Vegas, and theres no way I’m not taking full advantage. As horrible as booze and nicotine sound at 10:00am, I know they are the only things that will bring me back. Time to get back on the horse.

After the first quarter the guys slowly start to trickle in. Pauper and Rafi show up with starbucks in hand, but nothing for me. Assholes. Only Teddy has the peace of mind to check with me before he grabs his coffee. I order a grande red eye, and I almost immediately I feel the blood return to my head. Its gonna be ok.

The Colts win and I press my winnings on Detroit, taking the moneyline. The payout is like +180 and I like their defense’s chances of stopping Romo. The boys decide to head back to the room for a nap, which is fine with me, I need them rested for our last night. TAG starts to fill up for the afternoon game, and there is a large crowd of DET fans sitting infront of me. Good. I hate betting against the crowd.

DET vs. DAL is a great game and while I’m sitting there by myself, I have one of those moments where you fully appreciate where you are. I’m in Vegas, during the playoffs, with the boys, and there is still a full night ahead of us. Life is good. I know I need to eat something, so I order buffalo wings from the Guy Fieri restaurant in the Linq. They have a cool deal where they will deliver food to TAG. The price isn’t too bad, I think I pay like $20 with tip. The wings are good, but something about them is super rich and I have a hard time getting them down. This isn’t new to me though, I always have a hard time eating while I’m drinking.

Halfway through the game, the guys make their way back. I’m excited and eager for them to find their rhythm so I buy a couple rounds. Fucking Pauper orders a white Russian. Who drinks that shit? Milk and booze just isn’t my thing. Whatever, to each his own.

The game is down to the wire and I get totally fucked when that PI flag against DAL gets picked up. DAL ends up winning and all of a sudden I’m down for the day. The loss, combined with the thought of no more football quickly puts me in a sour mood. I look at the guys and ask them what they want to do. Rafi shrugs and suggests the fuzzy dice. At this point, anything that isn’t computer games is fine by me.

We sit down at bubble craps and immediately the server is there for drink orders. Everyone orders whiskey, except Teddy who says he is diabetic and has to watch his alcohol intake. Lame. We start playing and eventually its my turn to push the big red button (the electronic version of being the shooter). I go on an epic run, at least 45 minutes long. Halfway through Teddy starts betting the high/low and it just keeps coming. Before I know it Pauper is standing behind me yelling “cooommee on BOXCARS!!!” Pretty cool considering the dude hasn’t ever played craps. Everyone is into it and I’m hitting everything. When I finally 7 out Teddy cashes $700 and I’ve got $600. I play it down to $500 and cash out for $400 profit. Not bad at all.

Its close to dinner time and Rafi says he wants one of those big ass Rubens from the deli inside the Mirage. We head over and he pays like $27 dollars for two pieces of bread with like 6 inches of pastrami in between. Again, I just don’t get this fascination with sandwiches. Despite the fact that I’ve found my energy, food still doesn’t sound good. I pick at some of the left overs but don’t really eat anything.

After dinner we head back to the room to refill our drinks. We finish off the last of the tequila, and take the whiskey down to ¼. For the first time I realize how much liquor we’ve consumed over the last three days. Almost three handles, and that’s just the booze we’ve had in the room. Damn.

I talk the guys out of playing more video games with the classic “come on, its our last night in Vegas” line. It works every time. Rafi says he’s be down for some more BJ and we head back to TI. I can’t remember if they had lower table limits, or if they had 3:2, but there was something about their rules that drew us back there.

We arrive and the casino is just as dead as the night before. We find an open table and everyone grabs a seat. Its always nice when there is room for Pauper to sit down. He doesn’t have money to play, but he likes to sit and talk with the dealer like he’s a regular player. We end up playing at TI for a couple hours. Rafi and Teddy both manage to win a couple hundred dollars, but I manage to drop $200. Shit. Things are getting low.

I don’t know if I missed a session or not, but at this point I was down to like $300 remaining in my BR. I remember this vividly because I called to check in with the wife as we were leaving TI, and I remember telling her that I was thinking of shutting it down because I didn’t want to come home completely empty handed. Surprisingly, she told me I was crazy to not go all out on my last night in Vegas. She even told me to hit the ATM if necessary.

I’m a lucky man. Knowing she wasn’t going to bust my balls over a total loss gave me the second wind I needed. I remember at that point I had $100 in my pocket, and another $200 in the room which I had planned to save for the next days expenses. So we headed over to Casino Royale and sat down at the bubble craps machine in the back near the restaurants.

Just like before I start hitting numbers. The server comes by and I order a Jameson, neat, and she tells me they don’t have Jameson. Whatever, give me some sort of whiskey, neat.

The bubble craps luck slows down, and I cash out at $300 for a $200 win. Ok, $300 I can work with. At this point its like midnight, and I suggest heading back to O’sheas and everyone agrees. I find a spot at the craps table and quickly lose $100. Shit. I start dreading having to go up to the room for my last $200. I really don’t want to lose my whole BR. I’m someone who likes to come home with SOMETHING, even if its small.

Not there yet though. I find the guys at the same blackjack table as the night before and buy in for $100. Immediately I start catching cards and before I know it I’m up $150. Unfortunately, the music and the booze has me feeling invincible, and I keep my bets around $40, which is high for someone who only has $250 on the table. Before I know it, I’m busted out. DAMMMIT

I reach into my pocket and feel a single hundred dollar bill. Something inside me takes over, and I leave the table without saying a word. I don’t want an audience for my walk of shame up to the room.

As I’m leaving O’Sheas and walking through the Linq, I spot an open craps table, and without thinking, throw down my last $100. I play for a good 30 minutes and slowly start winning. By the time Teddy finds me I’ve got a good $300 dollars in my rack. He slaps me for ditching them and buys in next to me.

The next hour is a blur. Teddy immediately starts betting the high/low, and fuck it, I’m doing it too. Before I know it, Rafi is at the other end of the table doing this weird ass, force-push, dice throw. But he’s winning. I start pressing my bets and betting the hard ways. A $20 high/low hits and Teddy and I both start jumping around like jackasses. Rafi is on fire. I swear he roles for 30 minutes. When he finally sevens out, I look down and my rack is full. I color up because the damn cocktail waitress hasn’t been by since I started, and I’m thirsty. I have no idea how much money is in my rack, and when the dealer lays it out, there is $1500 on the felt. Holy crap.

I run up to my room and leave $1000 in the safe. There’s no way I’m going home empty handed after a run like that. I go back downstairs and fuckin Pauper is rolling the dice. Can’t believe I missed that. He doesn’t roll long, but Teddy makes a little more and cashes out like $500. I think Rafi is up $200 as he wasn’t placing the carny bets during his epic roll.

Firmly back in the money, I find a roulette table and buy in for two hundred hoping for a BeeJay-esq hit and run. That doesn’t happen. I lose the whole $200 in like 5 spins and I’m done. Oh well, lets go somewhere else. Everyone is high off of the epic roll, so we decide to find a table somewhere else. I’m not quite sure why, but we end up at Bally’s, at a table with a couple of dickwads who are fucking with the dealer. Bad luck. I drop $300 quickly, and Rafi loses his $200 in profits. He’s done, and its almost 4am, so everyone is starting to fade.

I say that we need food before bed and we had back to Casino Royale for some shitty hot dogs. No luck. Apparently the hotdog place closes at like 12am on Sundays. Pauper grabs subway and the rest of us opt for McDonalds. Like I said, I’m not into sandwiches.

The high from Rafis epic roll is wearing off, and we are all dreading our flights the next day. Somberly, we head to bed knowing that the best is behind us.

Thanks for the full report, better late then never. Always nice to have a good run of luck the last night so you know that you are leaving with some money. Also, enjoyed your story telling and writing style.

Yes, it opened early this year. It's not bad by white castle standards, but about 50% more costly than the rest of the chain. :( And the menu is deceiving. If you really want to just try one, you only have to get one or two if you just want a small snack. But the menu won't have individual burgers listed.

I found the prices not too bad at all. I was there a couple of weeks ago. 3 cheeseburgers, onion strips and fries came out a little over 10.00 bucks. That's not too bad.

Me either Ron. Had to move the trip to the Divisional Round instead of the Wild Card round. Which is fine with me, hopefully some better games. Hoping my Seahawks can make it that far.

Looked into staying downtown but just can't bring myself to pay the room rates when I can stay at the LINQ for free (almost, gotta pay resort fees). Oh well, figure I'll watch the games at TAG and then head downtown for the gambling.

I'll start the next TR when it gets closer. Took a bunch of pictures last time but lost them when I switched phones. I'll make sure to put them up this time...

    One month baby!

Happy you all found it interesting. Looking forward to providing a better one in just under four weeks... Hard to compete with the ever improving quality of TRs here
