    My Trip Report

I am going to try to update this every morning after we are here, so here is my first attempt at a trip report.

Started the day at 2:30 AM for a 6 AM flight. Got to the airport and got to our gates early and since I upgraded us to first class we were able to board right when we got to the gate and settle into our seats. Flight took off and landed on time with no delays and the crew on Alaska Air was great. Got to the airport and immediately lost 20.00 each on the slots waiting for baggage. As we got into the cab I asked the cab driver to take us on paradise and my wife asked me why, I showed her the app in my hands and explained the difference between paradise and the highway of $10.00, cabbie was cool and told me that some people don't do there research, gave him a $20.00 on a 13.00 bill and told him to have a great day. Arrival at the MGM at 9:15 AM and a line had already formed. Got a dummy key and had our stuff at the bell hop, went to the mlife desk to get our $50.00 in free play and lady told us our room was ready, gave us our room number and was in our room by 10:30. After waiting for our luggage, then putting stuff away we decided a nap was in order, sleep from 11:30 till 12:30 and left.

We went to New York New York to walk around and get or tickets for the show that night, they were able to get our tickets for both the Zumitaty and for The Tournament of Kings so we didn't have to make a trip to Excalibur until later, then we walked the strip to Walgreens and the ABC store to get supplies, alcohol a lot cheaper at the ABC store then room, wife works at walgreens so her discount plus all the money in reward points we have means we spent $3.00 on a $23.00 bill there. :evillaugh Took supplies to room drank a little bit headed down to casino to gamble and go see shows.

After Tournament of Kings we stayed and gambled a little at the Excalibur and we are staying pretty much even for the day starting with $300.00 each. Sat down at a 3 card poker table with a $5.00 bonus for 5 card hands. I hit a 4 of a kind for $500.00, a flush for $50.00 and the wife hit a straight for $25.00, started at the table with $100.00 each and cashed out with $605.00. After cashing in I stopped at a $1.00 slot and hit for $200.00 while the wife hit for $120.00 on a penny slot.

Left Excalibur for New York New York for our second show of the night then we went on the roller coaster at midnight, enjoyed both shows and roller coaster.

Went back to MGM Grand and lost some of our money back but not all, ended the night at 1 AM up $200.00 for the day between both of us.

Day 2, actual anniversary, We woke early (around 6am)and called room service, no we don't like doing room service but its our anniversary, why not. Promptly passed back our for 3 hours. Got out of bed and started drinking, gambling and decided it was time to party and headed down to freemont street. Lost lots of money, lots on slot machines and 3 card poker,( wifes favorite card game) for us low rollers but had a blast. We lost all the money we had saved up for Sunday and all the extra winnings so we are were we expected to be, $300.00 a day per person to gamble not including food drinks or extras, different money for that.

We pre bought tickets to marriage can be murder and had a blast there, if you ever have a chance to see it go, its extremely funny. I had the people thinking I was the murderer during the interactive portion during our dinner.

I am very glad someone gave me some great advice years ago, take a picture of your room number and make it your lock screen so you just have to push one button if you don't remember your room. We made it back to room around 3:30 am and promptly passed out.

Extremely fun day with my wife.

    Day 3,

We slept in a bit after the late night the night before, didn't leave until noonish to go eat breakfast at the American Cafe, good food terrific service. I can't say enough about the service in there, our waitress was attentive even though she was extremely busy and always came by the table to check in on us. I left a glowing review on the charge receipt praising her and a nice cash tip.

After we left here we decided to get ahead of the money thing and settle down and do the CBS survey, yes we volunteered, we didn't get attacked and came out with $20.00 and some coupons that we won't use. It was fun and I got to listen to some pandora for 30 minutes and play on an iPad.

We left our casino and decided to take a walk, my wife has been telling me I owe her a new cup from Cabo so we walked to the mall, I got her a cup full and walked into Planet Hollywood were we sat down at a Let it Ride and partied with a table full of people (not much alcohol, but a fun loud table) and lost $200.00 over the next 2 hours. We decided to leave with some money and started walking toward the Linq. We decided walking would be fun so why not, stopped and play some at Harrahs and realized we need to go back to check out the garden, walked to the bowling alley and realized there isn't any open bowl, they explained that it is a concert venue that has a bowling lane not a bowling lane that does concerts.:grrr: Sorry guys, I love bowling and to know there is a rock themed alley that I couldn't even go see the lanes made me sad. After leaving we wondered the Linq and decided dinner was approaching, it was about 730 pm and it was time to try the reason we walked down here, The Quad here we come.

We ate at Guy Fieri's new restaurant, the food was good, really enjoyed the drinks but the service wasn't the best, the food made up for it though, I had the fish taco's while my wife had the steak taco's. After we left we started our money comeback, my wife hot for $250.00 on a penny machine while I hit for $100.00 dollars on the next penny machine right next to her. Thats when it clicked, we aren't going to do anything on the table games, wife doesn't like blackjack or paigow so if we stop at card games its 3 card or let it ride. We walked around and bought some stuff for the kids at Toby Keith's bar and went to Tresure Island and had a drink and listened to karaoke at Gilley's, that was fun.

We left there just after karaoke ended at midnight and took the bus back to Excalibur were we lost $200.00 again at 3 card poker but made $400.00 on the quarter slots. Started to get sleepy so walked back to our rooms counted our money and realized we are down $120.00 for the day but again we had a blast.

So were home now, spent this morning packing and leaving for the airport. Yesterday we started the day with a free breakfast at the Luxor throughout myvegas and only took a little bit of money so we didn't blow our whole days money from the time we left to breakfast and back to the room. We weren't overly happy with the brunch because it was right at the time when they were doing the switch over from breakfast to lunch, so we got old breakfast and I think leftover dinner from the night before, don't quote me on that. It wasn't horrible just not as good as I know that the buffets normally are in Vegas.

Played a little cards on the way to New York New York to finish our gift shopping for our kids, Hershey store, then down to M & M store and finish at the Coca Cola store. Quick stop at our room to drop off all our souvenirs grab our cash it was time to go have some fun.

It was around 6 pm before we got to fremont street and went straight to slot zilla, we tried to go on Monday but lightening stopped that, as soon as we walked in they told us they were closed due to lightening, I started to get frustrated at the weather but they said the lightening was only a couple miles out come back in an hour and they should be good, so we went to The D and lost $100.00 at the tables and won $150.00 on penny slots, starting to like the penny slots. Went back to the zip line and we were able to buy our tickets for 8:40 that night so went back to the same penny slots and won another $75.00. Went and did the zip line and had a blast again. We stuck around Fremont for another hour and went back to Planet Hollywood to have some more fun there. Stayed at PH until around 1:30 am and headed back to our room to head to sleep, spent a couple hundred but mostly on souvenirs.

Went down to the MLife desk and talk to the people about evaluating our play and checking for comps on our room and food and they comped us on one days room and resort fee as well as our anniversary breakfast room service and almost all of our breakfast from American Cafe they took a total of $190.00 off our bill and upgraded us to sapphire level on the MLife program.

Sat down at a 3 card table and lost some, left before it got out of hand then went to breakfast at New York New York, played some quarter slots and won $40.00 and then headed to the airport. I don't smoke but I was drawing to a machine in the smoking room and am glad I did, won a hundred waiting on our plane.

We are home and surprised that for the first time we came home with more then $100.00. We had a blast, and am looking forward to our next trip.
