    Does anyone know why rooms are so expensive Tue and Wed Oct 7th and 8th?

    30,000 Person convention starts at the Las Vegas Convention Center on the 8th as well. October tends to be a pretty big convention time.

    8,000 people is a small convention by Las Vegas standards. 30,000 is moderate - and would still leave plenty of rooms.

    I agree Bill. I am already booked for 5 nights at Vdara, 10/4-10/9 but I was thinking about staying the last two nights somewhere else but the prices are outrageous and Venetian and Palazzo aren't even available!

    I'm glad I had a comp at Aria. We're staying at Mandalay Bay on the 5th and 6th via MyVegas and ended up using a 2 night comp at Aria for the 7th and 8th. I looked around and the rates for the 7th and 8th are insane, Aria is showing $888 before resort fee, etc. for those two nights in a two queen room. Car rental rates are high as hell also for the week we're there.
