Had an excellent time at the Palms...we had a corner room with a great view.

Definitely cannot use the coupon on a discounted room (I asked at check-in), but she told me I could apply to the resort fee. When I checked out the new front desk person said I could not...I whined a bit and she removed the resort fee for one night...a small victory.

I wouldn't consider the casino run down at all and, in fact, it was very clean and comfortable. It is also very quiet and empty. I walked into Hooters in the middle of NFL Sunday and there was no excitement there. Not sure what they have planned for the property, but their current strategy doesn't seem to be targeting anyone. All of that being said, we would stay there again.
