everyone's TC is at 0 right now unless they've gambled in the last 8 days.

Not sure exactly how they decide. I know someone with less than a million is still NOIR. (and not a website issue - confirmed with a host)

previous history. if you were a solid Noir previously and just had a low year last year, they're not going to kick you out and risk pissing you off. if you have 2 low years in a row, then they might adjust.

the whole thing about reverting back to invite only was to get rid of all the people who never should have been Noir in the first place and only qualified based on 1M TCs. so if you play at a high bet/bankroll level, but maybe just had only a couple of trips or short trips, they'll keep you around hoping that next year you come more frequently.

I was within ~ 1 trip of hitting 1M TC's during my last active earning period and I certainly don't think I bet enough (either amount or frequency) to earn a NOIR card.

Other than someone with maybe high meeting type expenses, I do not understand why they would not LOVE to kiss the ass of someone with a million points.???

I had 1.6 mln in TC, but my account is reset to platinum. We are primarily video poker players, so it looks like they value slot players more. I didn't receive anything via mlife either (no email, snail mail or host contact).

Because it's all relative. 1m is a lot to some but there's tons of people with that many. Adding all of them diluted the value of noir and it pissed off the people with 5-20M TCs or more and the losses to go along with it. You could get 1m TCs under the old system with just a few thousand bucks. You can't have those people grouped with people who have yearly losses in the 200k+ range and expect those people to be happy about it.

I could see a new level for attaining 1M TC's, and elevating Noir to a few million TC's --- with some additional perks.

But then again... MGM is not asking me. :)

Of course, they've buffered it all a bit by apparently lowering the TC's you earn to begin with.

What's interesting with me is that I never have earned enough points to reach platinum, but during my last trip was bumped to platinum in the middle of my trip. I Confirmed that my tier credits were accurate, but was still short of the normal 200,000. I earned about 120,000 in a couple of days playing blackjack. I wondered at the time if I was bumped up to platinum by a host or mlife based on my bet size at 500/hand. I will never know and don't care. I am still platinum. I will most certainly make platinum this year since I have two trips planned in the next 4 months.

I really don't care (well mostly....LOL) that I'm no longer NOIR as I certainly don't play at your level or tellafriend's level. As long as I keep getting my ARIA stays comped as I currently am, then all is good. However, the fact that I have 8 times as many points as required for platinum.....well, it makes you wonder if the platinum level is set too low. I imagine there are a lot of people who are in the 1-5 mln TC range at platinum.

My tier credits on Sept. 30th were 7 Mil. I'm still Platinum. I'm shopping other properties.

I am assuming you got that via play. So, unless you did something to piss off somebody at MGM - there are out of their mind to not keep you at NOIR. Am I missing something here?

In my mind, one of two things has happened:

    1) I had a winning year in 2012 ... They got it back this year!

    2) 70% of my play was VP with 30% being slots. My last couple of trips has been 90% slots and 10% VP. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

I will never understand their thinking .. It's best to just move on.

Unless you're a vp player, all you need to do is ask your host and you should have no problem getting invited. That's plenty of theo. If you are a vp player you're sol. Casino marketing hates vp players.

Well whatever Tier you are at on October 1st of each year when the TCs reset, you enjoy that tier for a year. But whatever amount of TCs you have by Oct 1, 2014 you will be that Tier til Oct 1, 2015, make sense?
