Question for you guys, I received an offer through my m life for a comp stay. My dilemma is, they are offering suites from NYNY, Monte Carlo and lower. MGM and up is just basic room. We normally stay at MGM but other casinos are intriguing(ARIA, BELIGIO). Would you go with a higher-end casino and try the $20 trick?

Personally, I would go with a standard room at Aria, unless the extra space of a suite is a must for you. I stayed in a NYNY suite last December and realized I would rather stay in a standard aria room. Other than the extra space and a spa behind the bed, there is not much special about those suites.

I'd go with the standard room in the nicer property. The rooms are usually cleaner, more modern and have better maintained and higher quality furnishings. Plus the service will be better and the rest of the property will be nicer.

There's certainly arguments for the suite in the less expensive property - cheaper food/booze/gambling, easier comps, being a bigger fish in a smaller pond etc. But unless I have a specific need for the extra space, I'll almost always go with the nicer room over the bigger room.

If I misunderstood the question and you were just asking for a specific hotel/casino recommendation, I'd choose Aria - best combination of rooms, casino and restaurants among the Mlife places, IMO.

If you want a room upgrade I think you'd probably have better luck contacting a host at aria or belligio and seeing if they can do anything for you. That is only of course you've played a fair amount. Just tell them your situation and offer for suites at the other properties. They might be able to accommodate your request of your play shows enough intrest. If all else fails then the $20 trick can be your back up.

Getting a suite with $20 is, well... gambling. And, worse than 6:5.

I wish it was that easy.

Thanks for the insight! Between the Aria and Belagio, which way would you guys go? I'm kinda leaning towards Aria, but I have only stepped foot inside once.

As always, it depends on what you're looking for. I prefer Aria because it has better food options, better spa, better rooms (especially the standard), slightly better high limit area, and fewer rude employees

As far as the upgrade possibility, I was hoping a Monday and Tuesday stay the end of July might help

The spa services are a BIG plus, I got my wife a message at Belagio last trip and she said it was ok, but she preferred the MGM.

The Monte Carlo suites are lousy. Bigger, noisier rooms in the center of the hub where all the drunk people congregate and sometimes fight. I also don't like the connecting door. Last time I had a spa suite there was a group playing Latin music at extreme volume in the adjoining Diamond Suite. I asked to be moved to a regular room down the hall because I was fresh out of flash bang grenades and pepper spray... Just kidding! They actually invited me in but I needed the sleep.

Aria regular rooms are indeed much better. Quieter too.

I'd probably go with Aria just for quality. I hadn't been in there since it first open but went in last month and it was actually a lot nicer than I remembered it being. The rooms look really nice from what I've seen online.

I would choose Aria. The rooms are beautiful. I've stayed and Cosmo also, I love the balcony.

I agree, Aria basic rooms are very nice and plenty big enough, at least for me. Overall nicer property.

    Good choice. :)

Just wanted to toss in one other reason why I'd pick Aria over Bellagio is strictly for how much less chaotic the Aria is. So many non-guests visit the Bellagio that it can be quite a zoo at times.

Not afan on MGM AT ALL. Place is TOOOOO damn big. Might try the high end try 20$ trick if ya like a lot of frills.. That then said with the other 2 names ya mentioned. I would choose Monte Carlo...
