Where do you go to purchase cigars downtown? I know there used to be a place on Fremont between the experience and El Cortez, but they aren't there any longer.

Any places you can suggest where I can pick up a dozen or so, without breaking the bank? It seems like most of the in-casino cigars stores have premium pricing for not so premium cigars.

There is a little shop right across the street for the "Gold and Silver Pawn Shop" of Pawn Stars fame. I am at a loss for the name, but just a little place and pretty cheap by LV standards. Great smokes, I even had him mail me a dozen or two.

I really hate sitting next to a cigar smoker at the bar, but I'll throw in my suggestion because I try and be a helpful guy.

    The Paiute Indian Smokeshop.

I no longer smoke, and I've never shopped there, but we have taken friends and they said the prices are terrific. Just don't walk down there at night, unless you are a large male.:poke:

I never smoked a cigar, but from their website here is a list:

If I'm not mistaken, that shop moved to Fourth Street, next to the Harley Davidson shop. It's been a while since I've been in there, but I think that's the place.

It's not Downtown, but Don Pablo's sells hand rolled cigars that are really reasonable. They're in a little strip mall at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Convention Center Dr. They also sell "seconds," which are a reall buy.

Thanks for the advice, and the links.

Joe, I don't blame you for not liking sitting next to a cigar smoker. I never smoke at the tables, only when walking outside, by the pool, or at a bar that is relaxed enough and has good ventilation. I'm one of the good cigar smokers. :peace:

The best (and ONLY, in my opinion) place in DT to get an awesome cigar is in Binions. It's called Vato Cigars and it's in the back near Benny's Bullpen. They hand roll all their own and they are tasty to say the least. The owners, Paul and Sara are great, friendly people and very knowlegable about their product. They also stock commercial ones, Arturo Fuente, Rocky Patel amongst others.

Don't even bother with Don Pablo on the South end of the Strip. We were there once, they had a girl working there that did not really know the product. One of the sticks I got there did not smoke well at all, but on the other hand, the one I brought back for my brother in law smoked good, he said.

From now on, every time I go to Vegas, I will be stopping by Vato to get one of their Aloha Blends....nice, great tasting maduro cigar.

The Plaza has a cigar shop on the 2nd floor, next to Oscar's.
