Trying to decide where to stay for an upcoming weekend in Vegas. I'm leaning towards Mandalay Bay. I just hate that it is so far down the strip. Other possible choices are MGM or the Monte Carlo. I know the Monte Carlo regular rooms are not on the same level but what about the Monaco Suite? I have been to Vegas 3 times before and have stayed at NYNY, Planet Hollywood, and TI. I was satisfied with all of those rooms. I'm not too picky, but would like a nice clean room to lay my head. Thanks for your opinions!!

We just stayed in a Monaco in January. It is definitely a good choice. I wouldn't hesitate to go for it again.

Monte Carlo due to location then MGM due to property personally from doing the 2.

Basic room in Monte Carlo is fine and that's what we have done in the past.

Monte Carlo is pretty outdated.. especially the rooms. If it was an exceptionally good deal I'd do it. I didn't like it last time I was there a few years ago, so boring... I really like MGM right now, I stayed there in February, it's all brand new, top to bottom, the rooms are really nice!! All the new slots. The location isn't bad either, it's just SO BIG. Getting to the strip is a hike (everything is big in Vegas though). Mandalay Bay is also a favorite, I love their casino, and dining, but I always drive in Vegas, so it's not an issue for me. If I didn't have a car I'd be hesitant.

What do the rates look like? I'd consider 1. MGM, 2. Mandalay, 3 Monte Carlo. Unless Monte Carlo is a rock bottom rate.
