I am a local Las Vegan who has lived here for eleven years. I gamble at least once per week for several hours and I play the $1 or $5 slots. I have been to nearly every major casino in the city and area (most many times). I finally decided last year that if I had never received a jackpot slip (over $1200) from a casino, I was not going to play there and instead focus on the casinos where I had hit jackpots. I was just curious which casinos you win at occasionally or at least "allow you to play?"
For me, these are the casinos where I have "won":
Aliante Station (4 or 5 jackpots)
    The Flamingo (4 jackpots)
    Aria (6 jackpots)
    Santa Fe Station (4 jackpots)
    Binions (2 jackpots)
The Las Vegas Club (2 jackpots)
    The D (1 slip)
    Texas Station (2 slips)
    The Tropicana (1 slip)
    The Wynn (2 slips)

The following casinos I have "hit" often and have never gotten a slip from:
    Caesars Palace
    The Golden Gate (downtown)
    Harrah's
    Mandalay Bay
    New York New York
    MGM

I know this is unscientific and anecdotal, but I am curious if anyone else takes a hard look at their win/loss or jackpots and go elsewhere? I have loved Caesars Palace for years, but realized I had never really won there.

i take a look at where i feel comfortable and where i enjoy gambling. but if one place seems to always be bad luck, i definitely move elsewhere. the reason for that is that i find that when i start to feel like a place is "bad luck" because of some bad trips it taints my attitude when i'm there. then i go in there expecting to lose and what do you know, i'm right. that's when it's time to move on.

but it takes a while for me to get to that point. my first few trips to MGM i had terrible luck, but i enjoy playing there, so i figured it would turn around eventually and the last few trips there have been good.

I have had more luck at M, Orleans, Flamingo, Binions and the Fremont. I just discovered GVR my last trip and had a little luck there, so am going to maybe stay there a couple nights our next trip and give it another try. They have been sending offers so hopefully we can get a comp for when we go in September.

I have always had incredible luck at NYNY in the past - BUT almost none the last three times I've been there!:bang:
Never had any luck at MGM, Aria, Mandalay Bay, or Mirage - but not ready to give up on them!

You play long enough and you will find that eventually you will win at everyplace and lose at everyplace.

Basically we play were we feel comfortable, were we are staying or want to stay so that our play gets tracked.

I have had really good streaks at M, Wynn, and Palazzo. But for some reason, I have had the most consistent luck at Bally's. Don't know why. No jackpots in Vegas, though.

Bellagio is my good luck charm. I don't think I've ever gotten hurt in their casino.

Main Street because we play there so often. That being said, for two years we probably hit Suncoast at least once a week and never hit a Royal.

When I go to V/P, I would be better off just going to the roulette dealer, handing him 2k, and walking out - would save me at least 10 minutes each trip.

I am the lowest of low rollers and I have done the best at: Bally's (0nly real jackpot) 4 Queens and the Flamingo. Of course my days of doing well at the Flamingo were in the days they were owned by Hilton. Oh, I have done decent at El Cortez as well.

I'd have to agree with the feeling that if a place is bad luck, you would generally lose there. I had a pretty huge loss to my blackjack bankroll at Monte Carlo a year or so ago on my first time playing there. The few times I came back there I went in with a bad feeling about the place that I wouldn't win - feeling was right. I think its all about perception and how you feel about a casino. I always show some love to MGM, Mirage, Wynncore and TI each trip. I usually do pretty well at Bellagio and Flamingo as well.

We stay at Paris so do most of our gambling there.
We've hit two $1,000 jackpots there in the same day one trip.
And, last year I had a couple of nice hits in the champagne slots for a total of $700.

I always seem to have terrible luck at the Bellagio and Cosmo was not so great for us.

We like PH, our money lasted forever there, but no huge hits.

Luxor and Caesars usually will hit something good every trip. Mandalay Bay on a few proven machines for us give good hits but overall one of our worst. Every trip we manage to hit somewhere good, the only and I mean ONLY, exceptions are Paris, NYNY, TI, and Excalibur those four are complete jinxes for us.

Serious low roller here. After I get done donating money to Bill's (most fun for the buck IMO) and maybe Harrah's and Flamingo, I always hit up Casino Royale for some serious low rolling, and I always seem to win there. Even on roulette. Mostly play craps though, and have doubled my money on their craps tables just before I left town both of my last two trips. Love that place, even early in the morning when they have what must be the crabbiest old craps dealers in town working.

Checked all my online statements a while back and:

    Lose=Flamingo
    Win=NYNY

Oddly I hate NYNY but it appears I have tagged them nicely the past 4 years. Maybe that is why I get no more offers from them. Flamingo has bathed me in losses every year....kind of a waste for what a dive it is.

Best runs by far have been at MGM ... good luck at MBay as well. Awful luck at Excal and Luxor -- dumpy places I never go unless friends want to, and then I regret it after I have dumped my day's bankroll. Decent luck at Bellagio, Aria, and Monte Carlo.

It's all anecdotal, as you know...but it's still interesting to hear what people have to say

    Sam's Town

My in-laws are in Vegas right now splitting their stay at Sam's Town and Palace Station. They used to be treated really well by their host Bob Cohen at the Imperial Palace before Harrah's took them over, but the comp structure drastically changed for the worse with Total Rewards. So they prefer to stay off-strip now.

In any event, my mother-in-law told me last night that things were really bad the first two days at Sam's Town and that they were in bed by 7:00 p.m. each night (they primarily play $0.25 DDB VP). But yesterday, she hit two Royal Flushes and then over $1800 on a triple play x10 VP machine.

$3,800 in one day isn't too shabby!

I been to Vegas 11 times now. My very best luck WAS at the Dunes, Stardust, 4 Queens, Fremont, Klondike(both locations), Riviera and Slots a fun. Get the picture?? The older places I believe seem to pay better. I had my worst luck at nyny, mgm and PH. Who knows, maybe its just me but, the "dumpier" places have a better gamble--isn't that the real reason we come to Vegas?

Best for me has been the Venetian. Worst was Hard Rock. Venetian always seems to come out ahead, thought I tend to only play BJ and Poker there. Hard Rock I got shelled for a day's budget in about 25 minutes at BJ there.

I liked craps at PH, but no table games for me at Paris ($400+ lost in 5 spins, progressively betting chasing a black streak).
