there already is a cancellation fee at most hotels if you cancel at the last minute, and quite frankly, there should be.

    Strip parking.

Probably transitory (read: temp) fees to start for special events. Timeline: 2016. Then, regular ongoing fees for non-members/guests within two years if temp fees don't create push back.

They will try it if they think could pull it off. I don't get why Hilton is trying it - they already offer non refundable prepaid reservations at many of their hotels and their business class customers will get pissed. My former employer would never book business travel trips under that type of policy.

I could care less about a cancellation fee. That is at least in the realm of being understandable. It's all the other BS fees that these resorts charge that get me upset. And it's not just Vegas. Hell Las Vegas still is a STEAL compared to other destination cities for lodging. I guess the thing that bothers me the most is the way these corporations insult our intelligence by cramming all these fees down our throats without any noticeable upside in service. But then again nobody is pointing a gun at my head demanding that I visit Las Vegas several times a year.....

King of fees has to be San Diego. Look at your bill and it's at least 10-15 lines of nickle and dime crap.

I wonder if they have brain storming sessions for coming up with new fees?

Bonuses for employees who come up with suggestions that are implemented?

A-Greed. The insulting fees are the worst.

The only tangible portion of a resort fee is MAYBE internet and MAYBE a early checkin option. Mostly just invented with scraps of stuff already offered beforehand.

I think more fees are inevitable, but this forum has the resilience to continue to help each other get the BEST available value at the given time -- lets not lose sight that we can try to vote with our feet and wallet, but barring any positive results we will still do better than most as a community!

I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it. lol.

Luxor charges a resort fee, and then part of the pool costs extra. The part of the pool that costs extra is just the same as the rest of the pool that should be free but that they charge a resort fee for.

    Fuck 'em.

Since its Chinese New Year and this year is Year of the Monkey, I expect the resorts will charge a discipline the monkey fee. Unless of course you have the coveted special tier card or are offered this promotion.

    That's an interesting invite.

There's two misspellings in it. I hope they didn't screw up whatever the Chinese characters are.

    PSL
Just like they did at NFL stadiums a few years a go.
    Extortion.
"If you'd like to sit in our casino.....thank you......your resort fee has
now included your own PSL ( personal seating license )......of course, for a nominal increased resort fee."
