Sorry for the lame newb question - heading to Paris for trip #5, low roller, I've never bothered to sign up for any player's club card but after reading a bunch I suppose I should. I don't expect much but any return is better than nothing I suppose...

Is it better to sign up online at the Paris website or to do it in person?

    Thanks in advance..

Better to sign up in person.

Signing up now will give them your email address and they might send you some discounted room rates for lower end properties (Harrah's, The Quad, Flamingo) but that'd be about it. When you arrive at Paris you would still have to go through what is effectively the whole sign up process anyways (they'll need ID, scan your ID, type in to the computer for 5-10 minutes) so signing up beforehand won't save any time.

The big difference is: if you sign up online you probably won't count as a new signup when you go to pick up your card, but by signing up in person you will for sure be a new signup and qualify for any new signup bonuses (you should get a fun book with a bunch of coupons, possibly a gift and might get some kind of "earn so many points for a free reward" promotion)

Yep, you need to show your ID to get a card.

If I may jump in with a supplementary question...

When you are signing up for a new slot card, is it better to do it before or after checking into your hotel room? ie. Is there any link between your room booking and your slot card number?

if your paying for your room and charging stuff to you will get rewards credits .

but it doesnt matter as you can go back to the front desk and have them add into your room reservation after you checked in. so no differnce

In person for sure. only takes a minute and you might get some free play.

Why not get a few free pulls just for showing your id card?

I used to be like you but after listening to everyone here changed my ways. Its fun to make a day of it and sign up for as many as possible.
