    My Trip Report

Well I have gone back to my regular life and the depression has set in. I guess that means it's time to write my trip report. It won't be long but it's not a quickie either....soooo...here we go.

    Sunday 9/23
Up at about 2am so that I could finally pack and head to the airport. It was just myself and my girlfriend and she had been packed for over a week. I just couldn't get into the packing thing. So here I am up at two trying not to forget anything. We head for Ohare for our 6:30 flight out. Not a car on the road...very quick trip to airport. Thanks to a friend at work I scored free parking in the employee lot. Much love. Nothing special about the airport. Can someone tell me why people line up to board a place asap when they have assigned seats. We were on United not SW why were they in line. Anyway flight took off on time and we arrived in Vegas 30 minutes early.

On our way to pick up our baggage my GF decided to stop in the body shop and look at the smell goods. Now I know that they were overpriced being in an airport but I have to say that is a better way to spend a half hour than fighiting the hears of people at the baggage carrousel. Secured the bags and went to the shuttle to the rental car facility. From bus to desk to car to strip took 30 minutes at the most. Very easy.
This is where I have to give you a bit of background. A few years ago we were in Vegas and we made some bad moves. On this trip we wanted to erase thoose demons. We took a cab from TI to Hash house a go-go and it was expensive. After that I had the smart idea to take a bus back to the strip. From hash house back to TI was a two and a half hour ordeal. In my mind I hated that restaurant so I really wanted to give them another chance. I am glad that I did. We took a drive over and had a great breakfast. I had bisquits and gravy and GF had some avacado scrambeled thing. Both were very good. Bill with two cocktails and tip came right around $40. The trip was off to a great start. Made a quick stop at a locat grocery on the way to the hotel for supplies. (Vodka...lime...corona...vodka...vodka) Pulled into the Signature around 11 and the room wasnt ready. Stashed the luggage and we were told we would be in tower 3. Decided to take a walk over to MGM and hit the casino. Donated in a slot machine here and a slot machine there. Put in a 20 and pull out ten....go to the next one....put in a 20 and win 40. That was about how it went for the entire trip. We head back over to the sig at about 1 pm and find out that the room still isnt ready. However they can put us in tower 1 on the 15 floor as opposed to the 25th in tower three. Hmmmmmm.....lets see....5minute walk or 15 minute walk..well take tower 1

Let me say right now I love the signature. My Vegas hotels have been San Remo..Riv...Stardust and TI. This is the first one that I will say I will make sure I stay there again. The decor...the staff it was all great. From tower one it was a quick walk on moving sidewalks to the MGM. Actually the walk through MGM was longer then the walk from the sig. So we got settled in and hit the pool for a few hours. The weather was only in the 80's but it felt warmer than that.

Around 5pm we went over to the Espn zone to watch the Bears cowboys game. Cowboy fans were rowdy but than again if the Bears had won I would have been as well. Sat at the bar it was very crowded. Had a few drinks and an appetizer. Bears were looking like crap so we had enuff. We left there and headed over to the hard rock. I wanted to go to get the steka and shrimp special. However when I went to the restroom pink taco grabbed my attention. The GF is a mexican food addict so we went there. Drinks were pretty good. Chips and Salso were OUTSTANDING !!!!!!! I can not say enough about theese fresh chips. I only go to authentic mexican restaurants here in Chicago and I have never....ever had chips that came close to this. It was that good. I have read some pretty bad reviews of pink taco however I was more than pleased with it. I had a simmered pork dish which was good....didnt blow me away but it was good and I would order it again. However the GF had flautas with mashaed potatoes in them that were out of this world. I mean they were damn good.Big ups to the pink taco:nworthy:

Okay, I know there's more to come; right? I've heard good things about the Signature; but, unfortunately, it's all nonsmoking so I may never get a chance to enjoy it.

Well I am a smoker but I dont smoke indoors at home. You can sit out on the patio by the pool and they allow smoking there.
