My biggest win ever JUST happened . . . .

This morning I went to the Cosmopolitant because, ironically, I was chasing down a tax form for a jackpot I hit in 2012. Since I was up anyway, I thought I'd try my luck on "my machine" in the High Limit room. In about 5 minutes I hit the following . . . .

We left, and I was happy that I was at that moment UP about $2200.00

After dinner we went back to the same casino (Cosmopolitan) and a really wanted to hit another jackpot or make some more money. I burned through money in both the High Limit area and out in the general gaming area and was just a little bit pissed that I'd burned about 6 or 7 hundred of my profit. Our friend Natty met us there and we were all sitting around having some drinks and telling stories and Natty told us that she is terrible luck to people that gamble.

I said, "Well, let's do some science and check that theory." So we went back to MY machine and on my 2nd hand I was dealt 4 cards needed for a Royal Flush. I told everyone to be quiet as I closed my eyes and took my card. Then BOOM!!!!!!!!

WE COMPLETELY EXPLODED!!!! "Holy F**king S**T!!!!" I screamed, as Natty and Nick both jumped and clapped and also screamed. People gathered around and the whole place was charged with insanity. I couldn't even wrap my head around it. They asked me if I wanted cash or a check. I told them give me $5K in cash and a check for $15K. They asked us if we wanted some drinks and I tipped the drink girl $40. I also tipped the payout/ slot attendants $40 each as well as giving both my friends $100 each.

We then just loitered around, told stories some more, danced at one of the bars, and then played a KISS slot machine for giggles, screaming at the machine and singing "Detroit Rock City".

So, yeah, I guess you could say . . . . today was a good day.

For this trip I am still up $21,000.00

My biggest win in Vegas is a dealt Royal at Flamingo on a 100-play 6/5 STP Bonus Poker machine. Unfortunately, I was licking my wounds on the trip to that point and played the machine intending to cheaply drink and stare at the Pleasure Pit...lol When I hit it, all I could do is repeatedly say: "Holy ****!"

The event has made me a lot more addicted to video poker though...whoops. More addicted to Vegas too. :)

Pinny congrats that is awesome! Smart you took the bulk of it in a check so you can't gamble it back right away. What's the paytable like on the $5 DDB there? It's not listed on vpfree.

Funkhouser kudos to you on not just winning but being able to survive this long as a floating head on top of Pinny's body. :peace:

Awesome hit Pinny!! Love the faces also! Again while I am really happy for you, I hate seeing these pics of $5 royals so close to a trip. Must resist the force to play $5 VP :wink2:

Agree totally. I think I am doomed now. For my trip in 10 days I had almost calmed my inner voices on $5 DDB and convinced myself that $2 was the most I was allowing myself.... So much for good intentions....

Man, that's a seriously good session Pinny !

All she needs to do is pull up this thread in front of her "friend" and ask the "friend" to explain themselves.

    Or.....

Maybe she already did and that's why she's been so quiet.

I've never won a huge jackpot, but had a couple of hits that were pretty awesome. One was playing pennies in Caveman Keno at Sharkey's in Gardnerville. GREAT little casino; drop in if you're every going through there. I hit, I think, all 8 numbers and won $350. It made my day!

The second is a story I told on here long ago. This was in the old Vegas, back in the early 80's (tears up, missing it). I was strolling along downtown and we passed this cheap, dirty, smoke filled little hole-in-the-wall joint that was mostly deserted. This horrible-looking old witch of a hag was leaning over a counter in the door. She had a face that was all wrinkles, not from age, but from mileage, but she had to be in her 60s. Big, ugly, dirty teeth, cigarette drooping from her mouth, and long black hair that HAD to be a wig.

As I walked past, she leered, "hey, hunny, put a dollar in that machine over there, it's hot tonight." Always ready for an adventure, I turned and walked straight to the machine she'd pointed at. I put in a silver dollar (remember THOSE? Tears up again...), pulled the handle, and won $50. I stood there for a moment as fifty big, heavy silver dollars clattered down into the tray.

I stuffed them into my pockets, turned and walked out, nodding curtly to the old witch. She had a look on her face of pure, seething hatred. :evillaugh Again, not a huge jackpot, but one of those "perfect moments."

That's what it looks like with the shocked look on your face to me. Awesome hit!!

I'm guessing they are in a similar location of the 8/5 Bonus and 9/7 Double Bonus listings on VPFree at Aria. And I think VPFree really needs to consistently list 9/6 DDB (everyone's favorite poker variant), excluding it is just stupid. 98.98% is close enough to 99%, imo.

    $1,500 hand pay

I don't gamble much or often but a little over $1,500 slots hand pay in a California Indian casino was my best so far. I am hoping for a hand pay when I go to Vegas.
