"Only gamble what you can afford to lose" is not allowed.

One time I asked a pit boss for a little advice. I told her, "These games are set up for the house to win. So how do I win?"
She said to press one on every win.
Ever since then I have minimized my losses while taking advantage of winning streaks. Gambling has been more fun since then. And profitable.

Bet more on a winning streak, less on a losing streak.

I heard this in a coffee shop as a young boy, I wish it had sank in back then.

If you win a decent amount. Take the money and bu yourself something you have been wanting like a leather jacket or kayak. No chance of losing it that way.

    Set a limit and stop

No matter how drunk you are, that big wheel is still horrible.

I love this song, but over time I've learned to always keep track of where I stand with respect to my bankroll.

The very first time I played a table game for any amount of money, I learned a lesson. I was a noob, daily budget $80. Learned some basic strategy and took $50 to an empty table at Luxor. $5 a hand. This was a huge deal for me at the time. I lost 12 out of 14 hands.

The dealer leaned over and said, "You played every hand right. Next time you play, if you are playing right and lose three or four in a row, walk away. Get out. Find another table or do something else for a while."

Will never forget her, went by the name of something-or-other.

Because I don't follow rules, here's the other one.

    Always Play Max Coins.

    The best advice: don't play.

But since I ignore that advice, the second best I have read: the most successful gamblers carry a large bankroll to try and win a small amount while the least successful gamblers carry a small bankroll and try to win a fortune

    Use the envelope system;
which is determined on your home turf when (?) sober and rational thought prevails. If followed as designed you can't be too surprised on the ride home.

Budgeting doesn't have to take the fun out of it, but can limit the daily loss. The lights, the alcohol, the vibe can cause distractions and separate the "chip" from actual money in your blurred eyes.

If you win big early in the trip, enjoy a nice dinner and wine and catch the first flight out of there the next morning.

Nothing's saying you have to stay the whole time you had planned.
