    Hi,
Sorry to sound like a novice but what is this tunnel?
We are staying at the NYNY from 21st November and will take a taxi from the airport as these are three of us.
    Thanks

The tunnel is just a road that goes under the airport and towards the freeway. It adds a lot of distance (so cost) onto any hotel between the airport and the Stratosphere , but will often be a quicker journey. It is worth taking for going downtown or Mandalay Bay or Luxor.

Obviously you were trying to mock the OP for asking what you consider a silly question, but I'd like you to tell me where on that map it explains what is commonly referred to as the tunnel on here?

Back in the early 2000's taxis and limo's used to go the tunnel way to the strip before they finished the paradise Swenson switch, also the Tropicana Road expansion. Honestly when I drove limos I like getting up to speed, to many stops on Trop or flamingo and then turning on the strip. They shouldn't use the tunnel going to Mbay, Excalibur, Luxor, NYNY, those southside strip, but CP, Mirage,TI and those on the northside, its just easier and quicker to get there via the tunnel. Here is info from google maps. Remember that taxis charge by the mile and per minute sit time in traffic. The tunnel which is 215 to the 15 to treasure island is 8.3 miles and with typical traffic takes 11 minutes. Now, taking Swenson is 4.5 miles and take 18 minutes.

Not exactly, though it may have come across that way.

Since another poster (you) had given a good explanation of what/where the tunnel is, I thought it would be helpful to provide a picture as well. Actually, what prompted that was the suggestion to use the tunnel to Luxor.
