Anyone know what's going to happen to the Riviera? Are they going to remodel, or Implode some day. I would like to see an implosion, it's on my bucket list. We will be lucky enough to be there for the closing in May, and I'm glad I took the opportunity to stay there several years ago. WE'LL MISS YA RIV.............

It's being demolished according to other threads as it was bought by LVCC for them to rebuild on the site.

Be a few months before imposion after May 4th I would have thought.

I'll also be there the morning of 5/4. I've never been to a casino on it's last day, just something I can say I did :)

Spent some time there last week. Casino was sparsely populated, but the bartenders were very cool. Kept trying to talk me into patron shots every time they brought me my Jack & Coke.

The tour guide at the Neon Museum said word on the street is implosion sometime this fall.

It will be imploded and the rubbish will be hauled away. 5/4/2015 is the last day of operation.

I was at the "Silver Slipper" on the last night it was open, and although it is a long time ago and kind of a blur, it was fun. Also was a lot of tears from employees and long time customers. Definitely a "party" atmosphere, and the booze was flowing like I've never seen it. People were so wasted it was amazing. I saw many, many employees actually doing shots with the customers.

I can imagine the same will be true of the Riv. My family has been going there for over 40 years, and I know many others have done the same. Gonna be strange not having the old war horse there anymore.

Any word on what's going to happen to that glorious sign???? I feel like when that's gone, Vegas won't be Vegas any more.

My goal is to be there that morning. Trip is yet to be booked.

I was at O'Sheas when they closed it on a Monday. Not a major casino closing, but it was fun to be there.
