I was thumbing throuhg one of thise Vegas magazines and they had a coupon to see Legends in Concert. They have ok deals in those but we all know you can just go to smarter vegas and get a better deal.

So i look at smartervegas and sure enough they have a good deal with buffet, vip seats and the like for cheap. The thing is i was using my phone for the forst time so obvioulsy I couldnt print anything out so i figured i would just ask at the Harrahs ticket booth.

So I go up to the 3rd floor and there are 3 young ladies there with a combined age of about 50. I explained what i wanted to do and they said they never heard of smartervegas.

I asked them anout travelzoo, never heard of it, Tripadvisor, never heard of it.

Whats with that? How can they sell tickets all day and answer what have to be endless similar questions yet still not know of these companies?

I didnt see the show after that, didnt have a warm fuzzy about it.

To me, CET has about the worse system in re to informed people working their
ticket sales. Turn over seem high, and staff 'in the know' are getting fewer by
the visit. (by the way...there's a box office on Harrah's 3d floor?) I've always dealt
with the one on the first floor.
The exception is at the Colosseum because they aren't CET.

Best you can do is...your homework. Have all your info together when you talk to
these newbies. Ask for a supervisor and remember...these folks who work the box offices
are local folks. Most don't see Shows or know what the websites are or deals they offer.

YES!...they should if you're gonna work the box office but CET has thinned the amount of
info they give these folks, it's really quite sad. WE NEED TO TEACH THEM THESE DAYS, lol
but remember...their job is to sell 'house' tickets along with any 'house' deals that go along
with it. You bring in a Travelzoo or Goldstar deal, the bar code on your voucher will take care
of you in their computer but...they probably don't have a clue what or where your voucher is
from...they don't need to. If it works in the computer, that's all they care about.

Simple procedures for simple minds, lol. It's sad, but it's the new normal at many box offices
around town and MANY properties don't even staff their stations with THEIR people. It's all
subbed out to cheaper service companies the properties hire.

There's lots of good options out there if 'rack rate' from the box office isn't your thing, just remember...
if you don't print out your deal/voucher and bring it with you to the box office...they can't do it for
you or help you. It's all up to you.

I clicked on a Legends offer from smartervegas.com and it routed to Ticketmaster. I have never been clear whether the box office desks in the casinos are part of Ticketmaster or not. If not, they probably are not set up to honor those deals we find for it. Travelzoo offers lots of deals that are direct with the casino but some route you to third parties. And whether it tickets or something else, there are some deals offered online that can only be redeemed online.

If any of the major ticket outlets/discounters carry a Show at a major Las Vegas property,
I would totally trust them to be good however...don't expect a properties box office to be
aware of any deal offered by Travelzoo, Goldstart, Best Of Vegas, etc. Those tickets are
honored at the box offices, you just can't buy one from the box offices.
You either buy direct from the property/box office at the rack rate or...
Buy from a discounter at their rate.

In their defenses, they were hired to work the ticket desk and sell tickets. Knowing all about other methods of marketing really is not required. Would be nice and if I was the manager, I would inform them. But, I understand why they are not.

As to making a decision on attending a show based on this... well, to each their own.
