Hey guys, I have some follow up questions.

So I know that most Vegas buffets close at 10 pm. What time do they typically stop accepting customers??

And for the buffets, what is the usual waiting time for dinner?? It's a Thursday night.

    Thanks.

For most, they accept customers until close. The real question is when do they stop putting out fresh food. I don't frequent them enough to answer that.

    Not all close at 10pm.
Many close at 9 or 9:30.
I would try to get in at least 30 minutes before close.

Cosmo accepts people but starts pulling food 30 minutes after closing.

IMO do not go right at closing...Cosmo was good but at my local it was awful going towards the end.

Never go at closing time, unless you have no choice. The mentally of a food service worker, be it a sit-down or buffet, is to begin the clean-up process ASAP, so as to get off the job the earliest possible time. When I worked the line in the restaurant business, nothing would tick me or my fellow workers more than the customer showing up just before closing.
Yes, you will be rushed to fill your plates up and may or not be warned when food items are beign taken away.

I see. I hope to make it at 8:30 pm. I'm just afraid the lines will get long..

I want to make it easier but you see, I arrive at Vegas at 7pm. I still need to get a Mlife card and the buffet reward before entering the buffet. And yes.. Check in to my hotel room.

And if I have a MyVegas buffet pass, can I line up on another line (say VIP) rather than the regular line?? Or no priorities??

I'm considering going to the MGM Grand or Bellagio buffets.

Bellagio usually gives you a VIP pass. The rest of the buffets don't to the best of my knowledge.

    There, I fixed it. :evillaugh.

You'll see how fast someone can work when they want to clock out. Plus the food is not at its best.

Really? Is the pass a separate card or something? I get the pass when I redeem the reward buffet at the Mlife desk??

It will be loaded on your card with the reward. They will explain it when you redeem.

They didn't explain to me when they loaded it but another employee let me know I could use the VIP line.

I could be wrong, but 8:30 might be a tad optimistic if you are arriving by air, and especially if you have a checked bag. You could possibly save yourself a little time by having the bell hops hold your bags, and then do your check in after dinner. Sometimes the check in process itself can be rather lengthy. Good Luck!

If OP is concerned about Bellagio's buffet, they close at 10pm. So no worry about being late.
I even got in once after 9:45pm and had no trouble with food.
I usually only take 5 minutes to finish my meal at a buffet. other people probably need more time.

Yes, I had that in mind after finding out Bellagio allows people to hold their bags. Do you know if the Mlife counters have long lines?? Many counters working or no?

Wow.. 15 mins. I think I'll need at least an hour. I have confidence I'll make it before 10 pm but just worried that I may have to wait in line to get inside (and the Mlife desk, etc..)
