Since I didn't think I'd be going to Vegas this year, I haven't been keeping up with all of the recent changes and construction on the Strip (was last there this past September).

Now that things worked out and we will be there August 28th through September 3rd, I'm wondering what to expect. We'll be splitting the trip between Flamingo and Excalibur and do a lot of walking up and down the the main part of the Strip (Mandalay Bay through Encore or so).

Obviously I'll be reading up over the next couple months but figured someone might be able to give me a quick run down. Linq status? I believe Bill's is gone now, right? Still stuff going on in front of IP/Quad with the sidewalk getting hectic? Anything else to be aware of?

    Thanks!

You've got it on Linq and Bill's construction.

But there is also lots of work in front of Monte Carlo and NYNY. In the sidewalk in front of MC is actually redirected onto the strip, they're doing that much work.

What i would suggest is if you are going south to Excalibur/Mandalay Bay from Flamingo, stay on the east side (Bally's) all the way down to M & M, then cross the street to walk to NYNY, Excalibur, Tram, etc., Or walk to MGM and cross over to Tropicana and then hit Excalbur south. This will alleviate the construction on the southwest end. The Bill's construction doesn't impede getting to the escalator over to Bally's.
At Flamingo, you can cross the street (between Quad/Flamingo) to Caesars and walk up past the Mirage and cross the street to Venetian to Wynn.
The major construction is the Quad/Bill's and Monte Carlo/NYNY. You can easily bypass this, if you are walking, by just walking on the other side of the street depending on what location you are currently at.
