I have 260,000 LPs and would like to use them for a room comp. It's been discussed in a lot of places that the good comps are drying up. There's barely any days at Mirage, which would be my preference in terms of property/location. I like the feel of Mandalay Bay but hate the location.

I'm wondering about NYNY vs. MC. I've stayed at MC and liked the location and HIT, but the rooms need a renovation. I've never stayed at NYNY, how is it there?

    Thoughts?

I've stayed at Aria (no longer a reward), Mandalay Bay and Monte Carlo via MyVegas. Aria is easily #1, Mandalay Bay is a solid #2 and Monte Carlo is a very, very distant #3. I haven't stayed at NYNY but the room at Monte Carlo was nothing special. It was clean, and if you just needed a place to sleep for a few hours it will be fine, but I have no intention of staying there again. I personally would choose Mandalay. Sure, it's the furthest South on the strip, but you can take the tram to the corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Boulevard. From there you're just a short walk over to MGM or a 10-15 minute walk away from Aria-Bellagio area. I try to focus my play at MLife properties so that's also a factor for me as far as location.

I'd go with NYNY. I don't like Monte Carlo very much.

I'd go with Mandalay Bay.. it's not that far, casino is great, many restaurant and standard room is better than the other properties.. you can try for an upgrade. I generally get a suite or upgraded to the Delano for asking. You have trams that will take you Luxor, an express tram to Excalibur, a short walk over a sky bridge to NYNY and there you are...

MGM Grand has much better rooms then MC or NYNY but NYNY has a little bit better vibe on the casino floor.

Yes but we are talking MyVegas rooms. So at the MGM Grand that would be the tiny West Wing King. Costs a hole lot of points for that tiny little room. The other MyVegas hotels offer more bang for the points.

I paid for the West King Room at MGM 2 years ago. Never again. I will never recommend that room to even my worst enemies. We used our LPs for the Park room at NYNY in 3 weeks. not expecting much but hoping to bump up into the Madison room with $20 trick. Either way, im sure it beats the west king room at mgm. never agin there.

The NYNY rooms will be similar to Monte Carlo. They suffice but are a little outdated and need some refreshing.

Mandalay or MGM would be my choice. You can always catch the free tram and get to Excalibur easily which puts you in the same location as NYNY/MGM/Monte Carlo.

Thanks for all of the answers. I think I'm leaning towards Mandalay Bay. Since it's not that much farther away from center strip and I like the vibe of the property it seems to be the best idea.

Another vote for Mandalay. I've used the reward on two separate occasions with my last trip this past week. I had two nights already booked this past week at the Delano and they let me stay in the same room my last night which was a MyVegas comp. Solid restaurants, never waited more than a couple of minutes for the tram, and a good spa.

Just got back from a trip where we redeemed for Mandalay and for ny ny. I was not impressed with either location to tell you the truth. Hated the bed in Mandalay. The bed in ny ny was better. I didn't like the casino in either place, it was one of those trips where it took money faster than you could feed the machine got no fun for my money. Mandalay did send an email for an upgrade for 30 dollars to the Delano right before we left but we decided to stay with Mandalay as we had never stayed there before. I would reccomend Monte Carlo first, mb upgrade to Delano second and I would cross the street to walk past ny ny :)
Ps we had a beautiful view from mb and we didn't care for the food in either location.

First have to see what properties have dates available. Some may gave bonus dates some may have regular comp room dates. Sometimes you might get one night available at one place and another night somewhere else.

Thanks again all. I think it's a good point about checking dates that are available.

    Everyone does their own thing.

For me fancy restaurants have zero appeal.

i do however like buffets and shows so thats what i spend my points on.

I'm using my reward points for two nights at Luxor. Only hotel with dates available when we will be there. Never stayed there before, so we'll see. Also using one night for Mirage.

I have stayed at NYNY and the Luxor using MyVegas.

I really liked the casino at NYNY - nice vibe and the machines are not crowded together. The room was nice - nothing special. We had a problem with the first room and with a quick call they upgraded me.

Not impressed with the Luxor BUT I stayed there in October and received a comp offer for two nights in a Tower room. I am a low roller, so this was an unexpected. I never received anything from NYNY, and I played there much longer than the Luxor.

I had the same dilemma, but I didn't have enough points for Mandalay Bay and the location is bad. So it was between NYNY and Monte Carlo for me. I chose NNY because it's it's smaller than MC and have those late night quick eats.

I used points for the luxor did not care for it, thought our stay at the Excalibur was better. Staying at MC next trip payed for the room with cash. Using loyalty for free play, KA tickets, and Bellagio Buffet. The free nights are not that free since you still have to pay like 30% of the price in resort fees.
