Casino, Restaurant, Bar, etc. So much has come and gone over the years, its hard for me to choose. I am also a Vegas newby in terms of time, only been coming about 10 years. But I would have to say I miss the Upper Deck Restaurant at the Las Vegas club the most. Also the downstairs Binions Cafe, but I ate at the UD much more often!

I miss the Horseshoe casino from the 80s. It was one helluva place.

I miss the lunch counter seats at Careful Kitty's, the ElCo's old coffee shop. Not a big fan of how they remodeled it.

Agree, the Horseshoe when Benny was around was fun. So was the Mint before it became part of Binions. LVC when Exber owned it.

The Upper Deck at the Vegas Club was our favorite spot for breakfast.

However, I'll have to go along with Mike on the original Binion's, before daughter Becky ruined it, and had to sell it. The original Binion's used to be our regular haunt, and was one of the rare properties that gave you cash back at a rate of .25% of your play ... AND ... food comps at .50% of the same play ... AND ... room comps on your same play ... along with LOTS of full pay video poker, and top-notch Blackjack rules.

All of that has gone away ....

    Second that.

I miss, generally, the Golden Gate, particularly the ancient machines they had like the two White Lightning video poker machines, and the bank of coin dropper slant top CRT Bonus Poker progressive machines up front. You could sit and play and look out onto Fremont...

It's a totally different vibe now.

As I am often solo the lunch counter seating at El Cortez allowed me to interact with, or at least overhear some of the most interesting characters. The original Golden Gate Diner was a breakfast must, served up with show when you watched the short order cooks from their counter seats. I also have fond memories of the general strangeness of Gold Spike, but they all pale in comparison to my first downtown love, Lady Luck. I'll check in at Downtown Grand in a few weeks but I have been told that I won't like what I'll see there.

I didn't get there until the mid 90's. That coffee shop was the best. Those dice dealers were the best and most sarcastic in the world. NONE BETTER.
