What is the first thing you do after you get to your room when you first arrive in Vegas?
Tip the bellman, unpack, mix a cocktail...
Quickly hang a few items up in the closet & get down to the casino floor for my 1st cocktail!!
Turn on ESPN and plop down at the desk, grab a highliter, start looking for good lines on all the sheets I just grabbed at the Book and ink em' up.
Or go to the bathroom
Go to the bathroom. It's a long drive with few stops between Boise and Las Vegas.
My arrival ritual usually goes like this:
Get to the room, take off my shoes, call bell desk to bring up luggage, order room service for some dinner, pour a cocktail, open the windows and take in the view.
Eat some dinner and relax from the road. And then I remember there's a casino downstairs and feel that rush of "I'm in Vegas!!!" The rest is usually kind of blurry.
?? I just posted on this same question in another section....maybe in TR???
I moved it out of TR as it doesn't appear to be one, but a misc-Vegas question.
Sweep the room for listening devices.
Wash my hands and brush my teeth.
Play with my ding-a-ling?
Clothes in the dresser; break in the bathroom; shower off the plane gunk; then drop $100 into VP in the nearest casino bar
Crack a beer, stare out the window, rip open my first day envelope and head down to the casino to do my Freeplay.
Pull off the disgusting bed covering that never gets washed and get the bed ready for 'immediate crashing' upon my drunken return.
1. Unpack and get everything squared away for the next week. This usually involves finding house keeping and slipping them a fiver for about 15 extra hangers. I also take a picture of the room number on my door.
2. Walk down to Walgreens and get some sundries that TSA won't permit in my carry on.
3. Hit one of my fave somewhat fast food joints (usually Pop Up Pizza) and then hit the tables.
Do hotels still have those nasty things? Haven't seen one of them in ages.
I'm usually a "fly in early morning" type, so generally it's jump in the Bell limo to the resort, drop off my bag and head to a bar (Whiskey Down at MGM, Vesper at Cosmo, whatever's around) to get into a Vegas state of mind.
I try to stay away from the casino for the first few hours b/c I hate the feel of losing a couple hundie right off the plane, like to ease into the trip gambling-wise.
Then once able to check in it's quickly unpack, get a quick nap if needed then out to make the rounds.
Unpack, check out the air conditioning to see if it is working properly, stash my valuables in the safe, write down the room number on a slip of paper and put it in my wallet and then head to the nearest casino bar for that first Heineken of the trip.
Sometimes, if I think of it, take a photo of the room before I mess it up. Then unpack most of what I intend to unpack and get out!
1. Look out the window to take in the view.
2. Hit the head
3. Give myself the "not today!" no tilt pep talk in order to prevent losing the day one BR in the 1st hour.
Then, it's on!
We arrive early morning so first things first...I snap picts of the room then we freshen up after a long 4+ hour flight.
Then I lock a few things up in the room safe and we go downstairs for breakfast. Sometimes we go back up to the
room to unpack, other times we hit the Slots.
