I'm going to be in Vegas June 19-24 and just found out this is going on at Las Vegas Motor Speedway that weekend.

I have no interest in going, but just wondered what kind of people will be in town for this. I assume it's a pretty big event considering where it's being held. Glad I got my comped rooms early before rates go through the roof!

Like a big giant rave or concert festival
I was in LV during last year's, not for the show and didn't go, but loved the clothing some of the young ladies were wearing...LOL

It's a festival for electronic/dance/house music. It draws massive crowds and would probably be very fun to go to.

If you have netflix, there is a documentary on it available for streaming

As people have said, it's an outdoor electronic music festival (i.e., rave) that draws some of the biggest names in the genre and packs absolutely massive crowds into Vegas. Just to warn you, it's going to be a madhouse during that time; last year drew 300k people, while the year before was 230k. And the crowd is, let's say, highly likely to be partaking in recreational drugs (although, for what it's worth, scantily clad as well).

that said, if you have to ask what it is, i'm guessing you'd have no interest in going! though the people watching would be great.

I saw pics from last year, I'm not sure how many people Las Vegas Motor Speedway holds for normal races but most NASCAR races hold quite a few, it filled the grandstands and the entire infield.

I'd imagine the strip would be quieter than normal while it's going on but before or after things could be quite good for people watching lol

A few episodes of last season's Vegas Strip were filmed while this was going on.

The strip, vehicle wise, was a zoo in the evenings.
Early evening/night (say before 10) lots of scantily clad ladies and revelers.
The shows are overnight/all night, starting at like 10-11 and ending at about 6am

Sleep all day, rave all night

That's all really helpful to know. I'm a hairstylist and I'm going for a hair show, I guess I won't be able to tell the hair show people from the rave people!

I know summer weekends are busy, but I thought maybe I had a shot at being there one of the more quiet weekends until I saw this.

At least we're going in on Wednesday to have a few vacation days before the show starts on Saturday. Maybe the week days will be kind of quiet. I just hate the thought of all the lines for restaurants and stuff, but if they're partying all night and sleeping all day, maybe they won't have much time to eat haha!
