MonteCarlo has a lot of the old school ones, Mandalay Bay too. Things like Cheese Caper and Money Vault. Found this awesome one last year at MC: basically the theme is menopause. All the cliches of hot flashes and temper tantrums and chasing men lustily...IT WAS SO OFFENSIVE! (and hilarious!). They must keep these classics.

Oh I loved the big Wyland at the Gold Coast. I never saw it at Mirage - bummer it is gone at both places now.
I'm not a fan of TI either. That was such a great machine. I played the one with the sea creatures that you actually
could draw on and win bonus money for the drawing. That was a fun bonus.

Stayed at Caesars Windsor this past weekend and noticed a couple of things....

    1. Numerous slots all in Chinese or Japansese. Nothing American about the machine or the symbols.
    2. A lot less buffalo machines than expected. And NONE of them yelled out BUFFFFFALO randomly like all the ones in Vegas do.
    3. A very good variety of the 9 line old school machines w the cherries, oranges, etc. Some of the fruits were even turning grey so imagine the machine has been around a while

That is Hot Flashes and is one of my faves, but you seldom see it anymore! I last found it in the Kansas City Ameristar, of all places.

The first time I saw it, it was at the newly-opened South Coast [sic] and I thought it was tacky! Just what someone my age needs to be thinking about. But when I played it, it was fun! :)

It's funny that IGT doesn't find a way to recycle their older mechanical reel themes the way Bally's does. Blazing Sevens, Black and White and all the other reel slot themes live on in so many other concepts. It's weird that there is yet another Lobstermania coming but they can't think of a way to reinvent Red White and Blue.

Buffalo is a relatively new theme and look at all the spinoffs. I count five not including the Wonder 4 games and they are all in active rotation in the casinos at least locally.

I can think of a ton of games that they just need to install in a new cabinet or tweak a bit that would be hits again. I enjoy games like that much more than some of the super tight licensed games they keep rolling out.

Jeez. I'm old and I like old machines, usually three reel, but there are fewer and fewer of them. Wild Cherry, Double Diamond, bouncing Diamonds, the old Top Dollar, 5 and 10 times pay, slowly...............fading..................away...............

The new video games and the multi line games? I can't tell half the time why I won, or didn't, usually didn't.

Wild Cherry, or Sherry as I call her, was my first. I'm pretty loyal to her, when I can find her in Vegas. When I can't I try a few new slots each trip.

I'm not as much a fan of Lotus Land in real life as I am on myVegas. I imagined the real thing would be more exciting to play.

    Hey Now!
I loves me some Top Dollar. The Fremont is the only Boyd's property in Vegas that has 'em.
I will make it a point to play there in a few weeks.....

They did it with Double Diamond 2000, but you rarely see it anymore!

My wife loves the video slots with the wild bonuses, she will try every new one that comes out. I'm more selective, I have some I play where I've had good luck but most I avoid. I love the old original 2 coin Top Dollar, I used to hit some nice jackpots on those. We went on a quest this past week to find Mr Cashman (wife loves those machines) in an MLife casino with no success. Our final try was Excalibur and while we didn't find Mr Cashman we did find some good older machines. I found a bank of old original I Dream Of Jeanie, the graphics were so blocky it and the old CRT was so dim but it was fun. After that I went wandering and found a couple of original $1 Blazing Sevens, I was never a huge fan of those but thought I would give it a try.

I noticed the progressive was $1001 so clearly it had been reset very recently, within about $40 of play I hit 3 of the plain 7's for $300. I've a very low limit gambler so at that point I usually do a few more spins and move on, within 3 spins I hit the same payout. At this point I decided I would stick around for a while, within 5 minutes I hit 3 mixed 7's for $200. Given that the progressive had obviously been hit and that I have never hit 3 decent jackpots like that in quick succession I started wondering if something was wrong with the machine. After about 5 more minutes of play I hit the progressive, during the hand pay the slot attendant confirmed that he had done a hand pay for $1000 about an hour before on the machine. Over the next 10 minutes in quick succession I hit two more $200 pays and a $300. I sunk about $300 into the machine without any more pays and decided to move on. My wife hates physical 3 reel machines and especially $1 ones but after hearing my story and my theory the machine was broken she decided to invest $100 into it to see. In the 15 minutes she played it she hit two $200 payouts and the progressive again for $1000. After the progressive she played for a while but didn't hit anymore and we left.

I swear that story is 100% true and I know it will never happen again, I'm sure the machine had a problem and I was very tempted to go back to Excalibur the next day when we were leaving to see if the machine was even still there. I can't imagine at least 3 hand pay progressives in the space of 90 minutes wouldn't be noticed by a manager.

I find myslef playing good monopoly themed machines(like jackpot station) and for some reason crazy money 2 machines. Love the wizard of oz "were not in kansas" slots. Can't play them too long or i get out of control.
